[Bug 326132] Re: [wishlist] Pinentry does not allow to paste into it, why?!
I can confirm this bug in Kubuntu 12.04. This is extremely annoying. I regularly use gpg for symmetric encryption with huge (200+ bytes) autogenerated passphrases. Any progress on this? I have noticed the current version of digikam included in Ubuntu 12.04 has an option to add video file extensions, but adding .mkv here does not appear to have any effect. It seems that the new kernel does not include evms support, while the older kernel does. Is this something that has been officially removed from the Ubuntu provided kernel? If so, why? I am pretty sure this breaks a lot of Ubuntu deployments using LUKS and dmcrypt. Public bug reported: I use lxubuntu on a Lenovo S10 netbook. Because of the small screen, it is important to save vertical screenestate. Thus, it is natural to put panels on the side screen edges instead of top or bottom. However, lxpanel does not handle this well. [Bug 892516] [NEW] kwin takes up lots of CPU time
Public bug reported: I run Kubuntu 11.10 on my Thinkpad T61p laptop. This often happens: after using it for a while, kwin starts hogging the CPU using between 30% and 50% constantly. This is a 2 core CPU, so I guess 50% means that it takes up 100% of one of the cores. This is the process line from 'top' showing the process: 1885 tdn 20 0 700m 112m 53m S 32 2.9 84:39.98 kwin -session 10d2c46c620001306616728002264_1321211077_162487 This is a big problem as it quickly drains the battery if the AC power supply is not connected and often heats up the CPU a lot. [Bug 888542] [NEW] Digikam automatically expands folders while dragging over them
Public bug reported: When a user drags a folder over another folder in Digikam, the folder is automatically expanded. This confuses users and makes it very easy to accidentially drop the folder in the wrong album. A screencast illustrating the problem is available here: http://ifile.dk/d/c4bd89b9-6f4b-49bf-be82-53ffc24ef7f8/ I see three problems here: 1: The automatic folder expansion can be useful in some use cases, however, it is my experience that it confuses users more than it helps. 2: Appearently, there is no way to disable this behaviour from the Settings window. 3: .. and this is probably the detail that makes this behavior most annoying/dangerous: the folder expansion happens too quickly. I am guessing it happens after hovering between 1 and 2 seconds. This is just too fast. Many users require much longer time in order to position the mouse correctly. I would say between 3-5 seconds would easily be needed. Recommended solution: 1: Provide an option to enable/disable this feature. 2: Set the default bahavior to have this option disabled. (I think other KDE applications such as Dolphin, etc. also have this feature disabled by default) 3: Make the delay before folder expansion configurable: let the user set the delay from a range between 500ms to 10s. Set default value to 4s. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: libreoffice When creating a new database connection in Base, the user is given the question of having the wizard register the database in LibreOffice. Despite having worked with databases for more than 10 years, upon seing this question, I had absolutely no idea what it meant. This ought to be explained better. [Bug 792685] [NEW] Broadcom wifi stopped working in 11.04, worked in earlier versions
Public bug reported: Hi I recently installed 11.04. Since then my broadcom wifi card stopped working. I have tried installing the restricted STA driver. It did not help. I have even tried following the ubuntu guide for bc43 cards. It describes two different drivers (STA being one of them). I tried both -- it did not make it work. With STA driver it works for a little while, then just stops working. Reconnecting to AP makes it work for a few minutes or seconds. wifi NIC: 05:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g LP- PHY (rev 01) I am not sure what package this bug should be attached to ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: linux-image-2.6.38-8-generic 2.6.38-8.42 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-8.42-generic 2.6.38.2 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-8-generic i686 NonfreeKernelModules: wl AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.23.
