Hi guys, I'tried to resync an iPhone because the user was telling me his calendar is missing. When checking the logfile there are lots of these errormessages about missing swiss german locale (approx each second an entry!). [SOGo] SOGo 5.7.1: unable to write tasks for other users
Hi there, since upgrading to SOGo 5.7.1 we are unable to write tasks for other users. It was working fine with 5.7.0, but in 5.7.1 users can select their own calendar and no other. Writing calendar entries seems to work, but afaik a user could change the calender in the list, which seems disappeared in the current release (tested with 20220822 and 20220826 nightly). Is this a configuration issue on my side or is it a bug ? Thanks in advance Peter

[SOGo] Policies automatic update for connector extension
Hi there, I am using Thunderbird policies to install sogo connector and some other addons. The connector is linked to my webserver and installs perfectly. [SOGo] ActiveSync Loose Provisioning
Hi there, Trying to connect a Nokia 8110-G4 via ActiveSync. The device comes with KaiOS (closed source Firefox-OS-Fork). There is not much logging available (EASDebug is enabled): >Jul 15 22:15:13 sogod [8500]: (null) env=REMOTE_HOST "OPTIONS /SOGo/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync HTTP/1.1" 200 0/0 0.060 - - 0 >Jul 15 22:15:13 sogod [8500]: (null) env=REMOTE_HOST "POST /SOGo/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync?Cmd=FolderSync=user.namek%40example.com=2b96527ebc04f4be2bafc89088707fa4=KaiOS HTTP/1.1" 501 218/13 0.002 - - 0 no further logging. When trying to connect an Z-Push-Account it also fails, but Z-Push has an option for "loose provisioning" for older devices (https://wiki.zarafa.com/index.php/Z-Push_Provisioning). There are lot's other projects out there with much worse (or no) documentation. I don't think the documentation is a mess. I think it's quite straight forward and clear. And there are lot's of other tutorials how to set up SOGo and you can always ask here on the list - very helpful guys here. Of course they want customers to sell support - it's how they pay their lives. Or do you work for nothing ? [SOGo] Dovecot ACLs with ldap groups
Hi there, This question is not SOGo-related, but as (I think at least) many others are using this scenario, maybe someone can enlighten me ;-) Couldn't find a solution for that (or am unsure if they are 'the way to do'...). I am running some SOGo servers, Dovecot and Postfix (with LDAP (Samba4) backend). Postfix is using queries to check users and group membership (to finally deliver to each mail of the members), Dovecot also checks Samba4 for users in dovecot-ldap.conf, which is working fine - no issues with that. There are different domains which are not visible to each other (SOGDomainVisibilty). short version: is it possible to set dovecot-acl to ldap groups (even better to the mail-address of these groups) instead of adding each user separately ? long version: Dovecot of course does not know that these domains are "independent" and a dovecot-acl with "authenticated" will of course show that folder on each domain, which is not intended. Now i'd like to add _imap acls for ldap groups_ (instead of adding each user separately) but don't know how to implement. Is that something to add to dovecot-ldap.conf (getting the users of a group) or a postlogin-script or something similar? something like groupname oder group-mailaddress in dovecot-acl: > ldap-group ilprs or > ldapgr...@domain.com ilprs Anyone else with a solution ? [SOGo] Outlook EAS with mailboxes > 3GB
Hi there, I've configured some Outlook 2013 users with EAS. This works great with smaller mailboxes, no issues (or none of the users told me ;-) But with mailboxes > 2.5/3GB users are complaining about these issues: * the initial sync takes "forever" (seems never to complete) * connection very often drops after a few mails (Outlook displaying "disconnected" and sometimes does not reconnect automatically) * some messages are downloaded each time and are multiple times listed in Outlook * some attachments are "scrumbled" and listed in plaintext instead as an attachment Most (if not all) of these users have lots of folders and messages inside these folders (mails from 2004 until now...) The server is hosting about 30 mailboxes (small business), about 10 of them are connecting with Outlook, the rest is using Thunderbird. On mobiles active sync works as expected. I found some advice in bug 3236 [1] and some mailinglist posts [2] but none of these settings helped. Also tried resyncing some folders or completely removed and reconfigured accounts with manage-eas. Tried increasing max_line_length in dovecot from 2MB to 4MB, the timeout in the apache virtual host is set to 3600. The worker count is set to 30. The same accounts connected with IMAP sync very fast, no "scrumbled" attachments. My question now is, how do I find the optimal settings for EAS are (MaximumSyncWindowSize, MaximumSyncResponseSize, WOWatchDogRequestTimeout, SOGoMaximumPingInterval, etc...) ? I've tried lots of values and nothing seemed to fix these issues. Is that a trial-and-error solution or are there any optimal settings I can calculate somehow ? The server is running Debian Jessie 8.2 with SOGo 2.3.2 / Dovecot 2.2.13. It's a virtual machine with currently 4GB RAM and two processors, average load never gets higher than 0.5... but sogo-common is still listed as 2.2.9 - is that intended ? (using the inverse repo) ii sogo:amd64 2.3.2-1 ii sogo-activesync 2.3.2-1 ii sogo-common 2.2.9+git20141017-1 Hopefully someone can give me advice how to solve these issues... I am using Dovecot with Postfix and virtual users in a MySQL database. Now SOG is demanding a LDAP usermanagement. Is there a way to access this already existing user database I am using with dovecot? Hi Christian, I don't think SOGo is demanding LDAP, you can also use SQL for example. (see manual page 31). But I wouldn't try to extend an existing database with the needed tables as if there are sql updates in newer versions of SOGo There is another thread [1] from 2012 regarding the similar issue and Christian Mack mentioned creating a view which collects the data from existing tables. I'm doing it via ldbedit: ldbedit -H /var/lib/samba/private/sam.ldb '(sAMAccountName=username)' then just add "otherMail: em...@alias.tld" (without quotes) and save it. For Postfix I've added an extra query to main.cf: virtual_alias_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/virtual_aliases, ldap:/etc/postfix/ldap_groups, ldap:/etc/postfix/ldap_users and the corresponding ldap queries looks like that (ensure you've installed the postfix-ldap package): server_host = samba4-address search_base = dc=domain,dc=local version = 3 bind = yes bind_dn = cn=LDAP Service,cn=users,dc=domain,dc=local bind_pw = secretpassword scope = sub query_filter = (&(objectclass=user)(otherMailbox=%s)) result_attribute = mail you can test your aliases with postmap: postmap -q alias@foo.local ldap://etc/postfix/ldap_users this should show you the "real"/main adress which will be used for delivery. btw: the group query looks similar to the user query, but with some settings: query_filter = (&(objectclass=group)(|(mail=%s)(otherMailbox=%s))) leaf_result_attribute = mail special_result_attribute = member I am using this configuration on lots of servers and it's working flawlessy. Hi there, we are currently using Zarafa for us and our customers for about 3 years. In general it was running but I never was happy as there are a few closed source parts in Zarafa. Not because of the price (it's not expensive). The Outlook client often has issues (mostly shared calenders not showing) after Windows-Updates. Usually you need to wait a few days until there is a working release available from Zarafa. Other than that, Users usually never had an issue using Outlook as it looked like it was connected to Exchange for them expect an additional Zarafa tab. There is no carddav support by default, you have to integrate it yourself with sabre-zarafa, a plugin (not from Zarafa). The xmpp-Implementation never really worked. It just works if the lefthandside of your mail is also your xmpp login. The webapp is quiet slow and (imho) ugly, as they try to rebuild Outlook in the Browser a little bit... The updates were usually painless and without issues, but since their announcement about stopping the outlook client, i think the complete quality is not the same anymore. Outlook support was the main reason we were running Zarafa, as most of our customers use Outlook. But since that decision, we think there are better solutions. For me the main reasons for SOGo are: *) if you use MAPI you don't need buggy connectors *) multiple users from different sources (LDAP, SQL) are easy to implement if you have to *) a real, proven IMAP Server can be used (Zarafa has it's own, feature-less IMAP-Server, we love Dovecot) *) Thunderbird Plugin seem to work quiet well and can replace outlook in my opinion *) easy integrated backup and restore mechanisms *) great clean webinterface with good features, but not useless things. *) in the debian repos (mostly, if you don't need openchange) *) completely free software but there is support from inverse if you need *) upgrading (seems to be) easy and without issues We think about not using openchange for these reasons: *) you have to use the inverse samba package, so no repository package anymore *) openchange seems to have still issues and we believe we'll never get happy to provide half of an exchange, so we try to convince our customers to use something that is working ;-) (please correct me if I am wrong) *) keep it simple... (imap, card- and caldav is something other clients can do as well) What I would love to see in SOGo is an integration of Owncloud in the Webmail, that would be nice and handy to store/attach files to messages. To be clear: I have no experience using Outlook with SOGo/OpenChange, just did a (really) short test... this is what I've heard from others, even on this mailing list. I am also very interested to hear from other users what exactly is working fine and where are the bottlenecks with openchange. Usually you have to get response from users working with a solution as they sometimes are used to do things we've never expected as admins ;-) Regards Peter -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists
