Hi!
Voice Dream Reader has global and document specific settings.
In global settings under Manage my voices option you can set the
default (prefered) voice for some language and set its speed, pitch
and volume. This voice, with all the settings you choosen will load
everytime you open the new document in that language.
Besides this, you can set document specific settings from the
document itself by tapping the Audio Settings button in the opened
document window. There you can manage most of the already mentioned
settings but it will be applied only to the actually opened
document.
So, try to check both global and document specific settings and be
careful which voice is selected in both places.

related to these devices.

This is not a list to share your religion or to express opinions on anyone’s 
religious beliefs. I know that some people have religious sentiments in their 
signatures. This is fine, as long as your sig is not meant to insult or abuse 
anyone, then that’s your sig and that’s the way that is. :) That’s your 
business.

As I said above, we have a diverse group of people here and that is just the 
way we like it. :)

So please, just because you may not share in someone’s deeply-held beliefs, is 
not a reason to interject your opinions about them nor is it a reason for 
anyone to deliberately share those beliefs which may insight such reactions.

The point here is simply to show respect on both sides of this coin so to 
speak. There may be people who hold beliefs that you do not or others which do 
not hold beliefs that you do. Don’t poke at each other! :)

At least on this list, please go ahead and focus on those things about each 
other which bring us together and help us live our lives in a positive and 
beneficial way for each other, okay?

Moving An App To A folder by LogitechK810 Bluetooth Keyboard, Is It A Bug?

Hi, list.

I have Iphone6Plus, IOS9.2 and LogitechK810 Bluetooth Keyboard.

When I move an app to a folder by using the command VO+shift+m, it works
just fine and moves the app to the desired folder, however, when I try to
move the second app, the VO+shift+m command does nothing. In other words It
just does once and does nothing for the subsequent move.

Is it a bug in IOS9.2 or VO or in LogitechK810?

Once you've opened the folder, you can slide your finger to the left,

Storing zip files in the cloud for use with VDR, without having them synced to my computer.

Wile I ove Dropbox, the fact that a copy of whatever I sync to it remains on my 
computer is a bit problematic. I have a smallish solid-state drive in my 
computer, which is while I'd like some sort of cloud storage solution that let 
me dump a bunch of stuff in it without that stuff also having to be on my SSD, 
if that makes sense. I think Google Drive may do something like this, but I'm 
not sure. Any help with this is greatly appreciated!

I Tunes

If you have I Tunes on your main computer you can manually go in and create
a playlist of songs you want  to transfer or check albums you want to sync
to your phone. I think 
Gordon  is right you need to find the setting in the menus in I Tunes on
your computer to manually manage your selections. I'm not sure how
complicated it gets or how accessible I Tunes with GW Micro but you will
have to look in the menus then tab around to se what needs checking so you
only transfer what you want and not everything in your i tunes library.
Actually, I'm not sure you even have your music in I Tunes on your desktop
computer. Do you? 
If all that is in place you will go to settings and make sure you have sync
checked under I Tunes then go back to I Tunes with your phone plugged in
select i phone then see what happens!
Someone more expert can fill in other missing steps. I transferred
somemusic into Drop Box which is in Voice Dream Reader but you can also
create music folders in Voice Dream Reader. Otherwise I do not know where I
Tunes syncs and puts music you have transferred unlessit be in the Music
App.

If you're using the BANA code, 'you can't enter a smilieface or frownieface, 
though, because the symbols are exactly alike, in terms of how they look in 
Braille. If you use UEB, however, you can make smilie/frownie faces, since left 
parin and right parin are now two distinct symbols. I'm not sure what the 
symbols are, however, since I haven't yet transitioned to UEB. This info is 
well documented, however. I think NBP (National Braille Press) published a 
guide to the changes from BANA Braille to UEB. It's free. If NBP wasn't the one 
who published the guide, someone else did. Maybe it was BANA themselves? It's 
some organization like that, however. Hope this helps.

I have a Gmail address which I use on my phone, in fact, two of them, one 
private in that I don’t give it out except to family or former boss.  However, 
I am not sure how to make sure all of my contacts are saved on Gmail, my late 
husband managed to transfer them from my former phone in 2011 and then put them 
on the iPhone 4, but, unfortunately he did not tell me how he did it and 
obviously I can’t ask now.  I back them up in the cloud but, would like to know 
they are safe elsewhere as it appears I may be moving in the next several 
months.  That may make me have to change my current long-standing e-mail 
address.  

Step-by-step instructions would be appreciated if possible.  

 

I use Google for searches and have for years but not a lot of other services.  

Some days I feel so very alone and today is one of those.

OK, so I just read  your more complete message now. You need the iCloud Control 
Panel to sync iTunes and Outlook. Sorry I can’t give you step-by-step 
instructions with this, I use Outlook.com for my email and contacts and my 
iPhone as well as my various Windows 7 PC’s at work and my Windows 10 laptop 
all with Office 2013 or 2016 work very well syncing directly with Outlook.com 
or in the case of my work email with Office 365/exchange online. The only time 
I ever connect my iPhone to the laptop and iTunes is when I want to do an 
encrypted backup, sync ringtones or upgrade to a completely new iOS version 
which I still prefer to do via iTunes because I get more feedback.

I’m transitioning from Outlook 2002 on a Windows XP system running iTunes 11.4 
32-bit to a Windows 7 system running Outlook 2010 and iTunes 11.4 64-bit. I’ve 
successfully configured Outlook 2010 and moved over my pst file containing all 
my saved messages, contacts, and calendar. Before I try to sync with iTunes, I 
want to make sure I have everything set up correctly so that my Outlook 
contacts and calendar will sync correctly.

 

I’ve noticed that the Outlook 2002 iTunes Outlook Add-in has been inactivated 
in my Outlook 2010 and I’m wondering if an add-in is even needed to do this 
anymore. I definitely don’t want to sync via iCloud but prefer to do it the 
old-fashioned way between my desktop and iPhone 6 running iOS 8.3 using iTunes. 
I just can’t seem to find the iTunes Outlook AddIn to download for use with 
Outlook 2010. I’ve scoured Google researching this issue and came across 
threads where folks had trouble syncing through iTunes 64-bit and I’m trying to 
avoid any problems. I have yet to launch iTunes on my new Windows 7 system and 
I’m hoping it has everything built in that is needed to successfully sync to my 
iPhone but I’m loathe to make assumptions.

 

I would appreciate any comments from those who know something about this and 
thanks in advance.

Hi Ari,
You can select which folders of dropbox sync with your computer.
If you go to dropbox preferences in the system menu, you can go to selective 
sync. Uncheck the folders that you do not want synced.

Wile I ove Dropbox, the fact that a copy of whatever I sync to it remains on my 
computer is a bit problematic. I have a smallish solid-state drive in my 
computer, which is while I'd like some sort of cloud storage solution that let 
me dump a bunch of stuff in it without that stuff also having to be on my SSD, 
if that makes sense. I think Google Drive may do something like this, but I'm 
not sure. Any help with this is greatly appreciated!

I totally agree! get sick of constant invites, from people i don’t know!
 
I still have the game, but just wish to play, with people of my choosing and 
not random people, who i have to keep rejecting.
 
There should be an option in the settings to stop random invites.
 
I don’t mind, if it is someone who has seen me through twitter or another 
persons FB, but in those cases, i would prefer it if they would write me a 
small message, saying, who they are.
 
I use to write back to some of these invites, to ask if they know me from 
somewhere, and they don’t bother to reply!
 
But i don’t see the point of the developer, keeping this option, if i am just 
going to get shut of them!

The reason i don’t like Dice world at all and why i dumped it is because of all 
the annoying random game invitations that pop up from time to time from people 
i don’t know, that nearly drove me up the walls. It’s ok if you could decide

but that’s not possible today unless something has changed.

Beth, saw an update for this app I think it was yesterday, 02/12 in the App 
Store, and the information about the update said it  was fixing crash issues.  
Not sure if you have this update yet, if not, maybe try downloading that and 
then trying to open the app.  That's about the only suggestion I can think of.  
I would sure be lost without this app, totally addicting.

I thought you didn't want the music on your phone because of space?
If you check sync all music when you have your phone connected to iTunes, then 
yes, it will all sync back onto your phone.

Or, you could manually manage music on your iPHone and only check certain 
albums or songs to sync to the iPHone, but sync all music when you are 
connecting your iPod to your computer using iTunes.

Loss of audio when connecting

I have an iPhone 6S and when connecting it through a cable to my rowing
machine monitor I lose all audio. This didn't happen at first just recently.
Does anyone know of any setting I might need to check to find out why I

iCloud and Outlook2016

Hi all,

 

I reinstalled windows today to no avail. Does anyone have any other ideas?
The error says,

"There is no default mail client, or the current mail client cannot fulfill
the message request. Please run Outlook and set it as the default mail
client." There is an ok button. I know this is slightly off topic, and for
that I'm sorry.

What version or app have you got? You know all you need to do is not even 
bother challenging with it. Gosh what do you really expect for free, and even 
if you do have the payed version, what the hell do you want in life? Gosh if 
just having random people ask you to play them is going to make a difference in 
your life, then goodness knows why you bothered with it. I think Nick does a 
wonderful job bringing this kind of game to us, and do we really need to hear 
the rumbles and grumbles about something you have already dumped?

Adding signature to document ios feature almost accessible

Hi all,


I wanted to comet about a feature that would, I think be useful for vi 
community and is at this point almost accessible on iOS. 

I'm referring to adding signature to a document before sending it in an email. 

Apple allows you to mark-up pdf and I suppose other file types but I'm only 
sure about pdf. 
One of the options is adding signature. 
Creating one was reasonably accessible but I needed sighted help to tell me 
where the line was I had to sign on. 
The nice thing is that it stored for future use. 
The folloing step' is unfortunately not accessible. We have no input about 
where to place it in the pdf document. 
I feel that asking apple to provide more feedback about where the signature is 
positioned or offering a default at the end of document could be useful for 
dealing with official documents etc.

Is there a other app any of you know about that could accomplish this more 
accesifbln?

Beth, saw an update for this app I think it was yesterday, 02/12 in the App 
Store, and the information about the update said it was fixing crash issues.  
Not sure if you have this update yet, if not, maybe try downloading that and 
then trying to open the app.  That's about the only suggestion I can think of.

You should be able to using the web interface. I haven't done it myself, 
but according to https://www.dropbox.com/en/help/90 you should be able 
to just click on the upload button and then select the file you want to 
upload. I'd assume you could also use the web interface to delete a file 
as well.

Converting youtube to mp3 or m4a on iPhone

Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to convert youtube videos to mp3 or m4a 
with the iPhone.  I am aware of youtube to mp3 converter, but, I was looking 
for a way to do it without having to use the computer.  I have searched and 
searched, but, can not come up with anything that works for me.  My iPhone is 
not jail broken because I can understand that it can be done if you jail break 
the iPhone.  I am using an iPhone 6 running ios 9.2.1.  Thanks for any 
suggestions, if there are any.

Beth, saw an update for this app I think it was yesterday, 02/12 in the App 
Store, and the information about the update said it was fixing crash issues.  
Not sure if you have this update yet, if not, maybe try downloading that and 
then trying to open the app.  That's about the only suggestion I can think of.
I would sure be lost without this app, totally addicting.

How are you connecting it? Is it simply a 3.5mm connection to give you audio 
through speakers on your rowing machine or is it a USB connection using the 
Lightning cable?

 

If it’s strictly audio, it most likely that your headphone volume has dropped 
to 0. To fix it, make sure you are on the home screen when you plug it in, once 
plugged in do a 2-finger swipe up or down on the screen to start Voiceover 
reading the screen and then repeatedly press the volume up button.

How exactly do you set up a second Apple ID? I tried to go to the accounts 
option in Settings, but I don't see an option to Add or Sign In, just see my 
own Apple Id. Of course I could sign out and back in with a different Id, but 
that would sort of defeat the purpose of easy switching. It would be nice if it 
were as in Netflix where you just select Who is Watching.

Also, when it comes to streaming from other iOS devices it doesn't matter what 
Apple Id is in use on the Apple TV, You just use Airplay and as long as you are 
connected to the same WiFi that is no problem.

You can sign up with different ID's on the Apple TV 4, you just have to switch

Not announcing the time when pressing home key

Hello listers,

   Hope everybody is doing well.  My niece used my iPhone today.  She took 
voiceover off and looked at pictures and forwarded pictures and then put my 
voiceover back on.  Now when I press the home key to know the time, it 
doesn't speak it as it used to.  It even says whatsapp when I am in whatsapp 
in places it didn't say whatsapp before.  I also have a question for you.  I 
once wanted to forward a voice message, I double tapped on share media but 
nothing happened.  How do I forward?  How do I delete?  I am using whatsapp.

seem to be a ton of apps that do this.
I can't speak to the accessibility except where Voiceover support was mentioned 
in the description, but some of these are free apps so nothing lost if you try 
them.

ProTube for YouTube: $3.99, mentions "full Voiceover support" in the app

This app I think doesn't allow for conversion to MP3 and offline playback, I 
read the developer had to remove this as it violated Youtube terms of service. 
However, it does allow you to play back videos in 256 Kbps quality which of 
course takes a lot less bandwidth than playing video and it allows for 
background playback with the phone locked. The app gets quite good reviews.

It is no different than any other game. Most of them have a random, and they 
pick from random people. For those people, who don't have a lot of friends that 
play. I've made a lot of new friends, playing this way. I can always refuse a 
person, if I don't want to play. There's no hard feelings that way, and it 
doesn't really matter. I see no problem with it. It's that way in about hanging 
with friends, trivia crack, trivia crack kingdoms, and it's even that way in 
Kings corner, and some of the others that of been around a long time.

I am joney595, and play all the games. Some, better than others. I had too 
leave for a while, as I had no Internet service while visiting my mom. I'm back 
in Indiana, where I have access, so can cause mischief again. :-) :-)
