Hi Wendy, if you just log in to the iTunes or App Store from your phone and download a purchase or make a new one, that should do it. What is the easy accessible way to get an apple ID?
Hello Folks, What is the easiest and most accessible site to get an apple ID? It seems to me that this feature is not accessible on the apple website. Not only that it has a captcha, but also the check box for accepting the terms and conditions is invisible to screen readers. Any idea on how to go around this problem and creating an apple ID without sighted help? I appreciate your suggestions. Re: What is the easy accessible way to get an apple ID?
Hello, Go to: https://appleid.apple.com/ Then, click the Create Apple ID button. Everything is pretty much straight forward (name, E-Mail Address, what you want your Apple ID to be, ETC.) There is a captcha you have to fill out, but there is an audio captcha available. You find this by clicking on the link that says Visual Impaired. Hope this helps, Jeffrey On 9/16/2014 12:53 PM, Cris Ali wrote: What is the easy accessible way to get an apple ID? Hello Folks, What is the easiest and most accessible site to get an apple ID? Re: What is the easy accessible way to get an apple ID?
Below are instructions I wrote for creating an Apple ID without a credit card, but it will also work if you want to choose a credit card instead of selecting none. You do this on your Apple Device. Creating an account on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch Open the App Store on your device. Find a free application on the App Store. Important: Before proceeding to the next step, you must download and install the free application by tapping Free followed by tapping Install App. Tap Create New Apple ID. Choose your country, and then tap Done. You'll need to read and agree to the iTunes Store Terms Conditions. Tap Agree located at the bottom of the page to continue. Enter your email address, security questions, birthday, and create your password. You also can enter an optional rescue email address. If you frequently change email addresses, it is recommended that you add a rescue email address. Learn more about the rescue email address. Once you are satisfied with the information entered, tap Next. Select None as your payment option. Continue to fill out the required email, address, and phone number fields. Tap Next. You'll then see a screen that says Verify your Account. Tap Done, and check your email for a verification email from iTunes Store. Open the email, and click the link enclosed in the email to activate your account. Once you tap the link, the App Store should automatically open and prompt you to sign in with your account name and password. Tap Sign In, and you will see a thank you screen. You have set up your account successfully, and you can start enjoying iTunes, iBooks, and the App Store on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. RE: Recovering Lost Apple ID Password Versus Setting Up New Apple ID
Joseph is correct. Go to http://iforgot.apple.com and follow the instructions. You will not be able to use the same Email address to register multiple Apple IDs. Personally, I would advocate trying to get back into the old account rather than abandoning it. If worst comes to worst, a different Email address will need to be used to create a new account. Grant From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Alan Lemly Sent: June 22, 2014 7:53 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Recovering Lost Apple ID Password Versus Setting Up New Apple ID I'm trying to help someone who has forgotten their Apple ID password for an account that has never been used. I'm thinking they should just start fresh with a new Apple ID account but I'm wondering what will happen if they do that and use the same email address as the user name as was previously used on the account with the forgotten password. I'm pretty sure a new account will be kicked out if the email address is identical. Does anyone have experience with requesting a forgotten password on an Apple ID? Is this done over the phone or through a web form? Any suggestions on the easiest way to get this resolved will be greatly appreciated. How to Create or Change Your Billing, Shipping, or Payment Information, Associated With an Apple ID, Using Only a Web Browser
Hello Everyone, I recently posted the following article to my BLOG at: http://candleshoreblog.com Mark How to Create or Change Your Billing, Shipping, or Payment Information, Associated With an Apple ID, Using Only a Web Browser Hello My Fellow Apple-orchard Dwellers, What is an Apple ID? An Apple ID is your user name for everything you do with Apple: Shop the iTunes Store, enable iCloud on all your devices, buy from the Apple Online Store, make a reservation at an Apple Retail Store, access the Apple Support website, and more. Although I continue to be amazed at the ever increasing level of accessibility Apple Inc. affords its physically challenged customers, and although I use both my Macintosh computers and iOS devices more than any other, on a daily basis, when it comes to providing serious online data such as credit card information, billing and shipping addresses, answers to security questions, etc I prefer to use my good-old Windows PC with its ever-so-familiar screen magnifier and text-to-speech engine. Having said this, I must also add that while one can update any pertinent information from within the various forms of iTunes and the iCloud Control panel, from almost any Apple device or Windows PC, I simply cringe when doing so in fear that I may make a mistake. Is this unreasonable? Perhaps it is. Nevertheless, for me anyway, it is so. Oh, one more thing. Should one choose, one can always elect to update Apple ID info via telephone courtesy of Apple iTunes customer support. Consequently, for me, there is only one solution when it comes to creating or changing billing, shipping, or payment information, associated with my Apple ID; and that solution is to use a web browser such as Safari or Internet Explorer. To use a web browser to update any information associated with an Apple ID, do the following: 1. Go to: http://appleid.apple.com Here, you will be able to create or change an Apple ID, edit or reset a password, change contact preferences, edit privacy settings or security questions, etc. In fact, you can do almost anything here accept modify or add a payment method such as providing credit card info. To add or modify a payment method associated with an Apple ID: 2. Go to: http://store.apple.com and click on the Account Tab to get started. I hope you find this information helpful. saving Apple Id on IPhone
Is there a way to permanently save my apple ID and password on the IPhone so that I don't have to sign in every time I go to the ITunes Store, Ap Store or want to send a message? I'm not finding a save button anywhere, and I need to type it in on the phone every time I enter one of these areas. Thanks. Re: saving Apple Id on IPhone
True. There is a setting in iTunes and App Stores settings that lets you set the time between password entries. For instance, I have mine set to fifteen minutes; anytime I enter my password to make a purchase, I can make any number of additional purchases within fifteen minutes without needing to enter my password again. Just something to look at while you are in the Settings anyway. Re: query regarding apple ID
Hi, You won't be able to conduct any kind of transaction without some sort of payment information. You definitely need to give them a credit card number so that you can buy apps. If you only get free apps, that's okay; nothing gets charged to your card. iCloud email versus Apple ID?
Hi all, I'm sending this to the Macvisionaries list as well, so I'm sorry if you get it twice. I was trying to change a friend's Apple ID to his iCloud address, just to keep things simple, and planned to do the same for my own account later today. However, it disallowed it, since the email address cannot be in a domain owned by Apple. A bit of googling, and I find that your iCloud account is an Apple ID in itself. I'm now thoroughly confused. I have a Gmail address tied to my Apple ID, and I have an @icloud.com address. Do I have two Apple IDs now? Do I have one with multiple addresses? What would happen to my apps, music, and the rest if I wanted to move to my iCloud email as my ID, assuming it is somehow different from my Gmail ID? I am just very confused, and hope someone can explain exactly what's going on. Re: phones using same apple ID and notes
Unless I missed something about this situation, you don't need to delete anything. Open Settings, then Mail, Contacts, and Calendars. Double tap your iCloud account, and enable Mail. You will be prompted to create an iCloud email address; do so, and you've got one. Now, go to applied.apple.com, sign in, go to your account settings, and change your email address to your iCloud one. If the goal is to add an iCloud address to your Apple account, you just did it without needing to erase anything. Again, sorry if I missed something here and am not giving the instructions for what you are trying to do. -- Have a great day, Alex mehg...@gmail.com On Feb 9, 2014, at 10:05 AM, Woody Anna Dresner wadres...@att.net wrote: Hello, Delete your iCloud account and then choose to create a new one. Be ware of a bogus email wanting you to confirm your Apple ID
Hi all, I just received an email with the following subject. **JUNK** please verify the email address accociated with your Apple ID What they want you to do is to go to a site and confirm your ID which they say will be taken offline in 24 hours if you don't do this. First of all. I have several email accounts and this is not an address which apple has, so they would not write me at this address. Second, I doubt this is anything like what Apple would write anyway. Third. If you check the spelling of the subject line, not to mention the word junk in the text, you will discover that whomever wrote this does not know how to spell. Re: phones using same apple ID and notes
Anna's method works the best. We have 4 products for two people. I don't want her contacts or email so having the same Apple ID makes it possible to not have to buy more than one copy of an app but having a separate ICloud account makes it possible for her to sink data between her phone and IPad but not affect me. Create separate accounts. I never encourage anyone to share accounts, for exactly that reason. No one wants to have the same contacts, calendar events, Safari bookmarks and passwords, Passbook passes, and more. Sure, you can't share apps, but I'd rather buy my own apps than deal with having all my personal data mixed with that of someone else, no matter how close I am to that other person. Besides, when you switch IDs, the apps will remain. You can't update them, but they will still be there unless you manually remove them. -- Have a great day, Alex mehg...@gmail.com On Feb 6, 2014, at 10:52 PM, brian albriton autoharp...@gmail.com wrote: My wfe and I share the same apple ID and notes that I make appear on her phone and hers appear on mine? Old Apple ID for which the email address no longer exists
Hi all. I am setting up my new iPad Air and restoring from the cloud. It turns out some of my purchases are under a former ID I had forgotten I used; I can't just ,reset my password because (1) the email address no longer exists; and (2) hwhen I try to use authentication by security questions it says my birthday is wrong (I do know my birth date!) So either somebody else got hold of my old Apple ID or I didn't know what I was doing the first time I did one. Obviously whatever these purchase were I've been living without them for a while but does anybody know if there's a way to get them back? This Apple ID has to go way back to when the first iPad came out! -- Cheryl I tried and tried to turn over a new leaf. I got crumpled wads of tear-stained paper thrown in the trash! Then God gave me a new heart and life: His joy for my despairing tears! And now, every day: This I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. creating a new apple Id
HI all, It has been a while since I have done this and I need to help a friend. I sold him a 4 S and am teaching him how to use it. I think it would be just as easy for him to set up his Apple account on the phone. To set a new account up, would he go to settings and then iTunes and app store on the phone to set up that new account? I have done this before it has just been a while and I don't remember. Re: Changing Apple ID
If you go to appleid.apple.com you can update your Apple ID. In the past, your Apple ID could be a simple username like xyz. Now, however, it has to be an Email address like x...@gmail.com. You can update your Apple ID by specifying a new primary Email address, but if you still use the old system with a username, I don't believe you can pick a new username. You'd have to use an Email address instead if ever you wanted to change your Apple ID. Grant On Oct 26, 2013, at 2:36 PM, Pinky pink...@abe.midco.net wrote: Hi list. iBlindTech 54 - Getting the most from your Apple ID - is posted
Hi All In this episode of iBT I take a look at how to configure your iPhone with multiple Apple IDs. This is particularly useful where you have multiple people in your family using iOS devices. In short, each Apple ID comes with the ability to make purchases in the app iTunes stores and access to iCloud services such as iCloud backup and an iCloud email address. I suggest using one singular Apple ID to make purchases through the App iTunes stores across your family. Than setup separate Apple ID's for use with the iCloud services. By doing this you will be able to avoid purchasing the same apps and media multiple times in your family whilst each person retains there own backup and iCloud storage space amongst other iCloud services. Please find a direct link to the podcast media file below and if you have any questions please email me directly as I am not always able to keep up with list traffic: http://www.iblindtech.com/storage/iBT-54-AppleID.mp3 Garth www.iblindtech.com/ Search for iBlindTech in iTunes or your favourite pod catcher to subscribe to the iBlindTech Democast. a favour to ask, borrow a german Apple ID?
Hi list, like the subject says, I have a favour to ask from anyone who is german on the list, would it be possible to borrow your apple ID? i'm sure everyones first reaction is no way, but my reason for asking is so that I can get a free app from the german app store called hidden apps. This app is one that apple has let through by mistake called hidden apps, and apparently it lets you hide apps on the springboard without a jailbreak. Unfortunately the app seems only available in the german store, and I guess that apple will take this app down very quickly once they find out about it. to read more about it please visit http://www.idownloadblog.com/2013/03/11/hiddenapps/ I have literally spent the past 2 hours trying to create a german ID without success, I know how to get around entering credit card information by selecting to install a free app on the phone then it gives you a none option for credit card information. but the process just isn't liking when I try to enter genuine german addresses and phone numbers of businesses into the address fields. I would appreciate any help, as I guess apple will probably pull this app by tomorrow or soon after. If people want to email me privately my address is alexwallis...@googlemail.com of course I would suggest changing your password before sending me details then changing it back after, and also delete credit card information before giving me them just to be completely safe even though I wouldn't take advantage I like to be careful. I will be very surprised if anyone responds to my email to help, but if you do then thanks in advance but I completely understand why people will probably be very wary of giving information out to me. Re: how to copy all of my contacts to a device which uses a different Apple ID
labeled summary. Press tab one more time and press space to select the next radial button. Unfortunately, I do not recall its name offhand. Tab past the rest of the radial buttons. You will now find options for syncing contacts, calendar appointments, and so on. For each type, choose the program on your computer which will maintain your information (if in windows). If on a Mac, the information is managed between iTunes, Apple Mail, and Address Book, I think. I am easily able to locate the info on my mac, and the choice of programs isn't offered. After selecting the contact data manager, tab to sync and activate it. Once all info is synced with your computer, connecting any other iOS device and following the same steps will sync all data between that device and your computer. In this way, all contact lists become identical. Moderator's note regarding Hijacked threads - Was Re: how to copy all of my contacts to a device which uses a different Apple ID
Hi all. This is your friendly moderator with a friendly reminder about hijacking threads. This is a no-no. I'll explain why now since this message I'm responding to is a perfect example of why hijacking threads is a no-no. The original thread was about turning off notifications for all apps. When I was out earlier, I saw this thread on my iPHone and thought it contained 14 plus messages. Wow, I thought. This thread about notifications really sparked an interesting conversation. Had I not been interested in reading about turning off notifications, I might have erased that thread with one swipe. That would have meant that I would also have missed out on the hijacked thread talking about copying contacts. Maybe I would have been interested in that and would have wanted to respond. Likewise, some people who are interested in thread 1, notifications, but not in thread 2, contact copying, might be annoyed because as they are happily reading about thread 1, all of a sudden, here comes thread 2. This may not seem like a big deal to some, but it is a big deal to many. Especially those members who read this list using the iPHone, iPad, or iPod Touch. The same is true for those reading with an updated email program which supports threads. The below message is a clear thread hijack. Basically what the posted did was read an existing message, press reply, then change the subject completely, erase the older content, and write the message about copying contacts. I don't know about you, but to me that seems like way more work when compared to simply starting a new message, addressing it to viphone@googlegroups.com, putting in an appropriate subject, and then the message. So, please, let's all take the time to start new discussions when they have nothing to do with what we are currently reading. The discussion of turning off notifications did not morph into copying contacts. DJ, I'm not picking on you personally, but I am showing an example of a clear hijacked thread. In the past I've written to individuals about it because I believe in doing list moderation off list to avoid cluttering the list with moderator notes, but today I'm viewing hijacked threads as equally annoying as one liner thank you messages. If anyone has something to add to my moderator's message, please respond privately. -- Raul A. Re: creating an apple ID in US
Thank you, Jonathan, Unfortunately it's not working for me. I tryed using the appstore on the iPhone and itunes on the computer. I chose none for a paymant method, but when I press on continue button, nothing happens. On the iPhone I got a text at the top that I should turn to the pstore support to make this transaction or something simmular. I haven't seen any message for incorrect or missing information so I'm just wondering. Hi, I am in Europe, but want to download some apps that are free and are not in my country appstore. Can I create an Apple ID for the US store and how? RE: problems activating my apple id
Hi Donald, Often when you have a picker item like choosing the country in your case you double tap on the control. It appears like nothing is changing as you said, but in fact you may find a list of countries elsewhere on the screen, usually below the picker item. I suggest you give it another try and after you double tap, just flick right or explore the screen and see if something popped up where you can select your country and by doing so make the Next button active. ICloud.com Email address added to my Apple ID
Hi all, I happened to reset the settings on my iPhone today and then got the strangest of popups. The message stated that a new Email address had been added to my Apple ID. The Email address bares the same alias as the one I signed up for when I created an iCloud account. That one was @me.com, and this new one is @icloud.com. I certainly never created an address @icloud.com recently and what's more, the address isn't valid--mail to it is bounced. What do you think could be going on? Apple Id website, was Itune Account Problem
Hi Debbie, This is easy, just tell your friend to go to http://AppleID.Apple.com and click on Already Have an Apple Id, then sign in with her old email address and password. If she doesn't remember the password she can request a new password, only problem is that that password most likely will be sent to her old email address although there may be an alternative for resetting a password. Once she is signed in, she can go to the Name, ID, and Email Addresses link, here she can change her name, email address etc. She will have to verify her new email address, I believe they send an email to that new address with a link to verify it. After that her new email address is her active Apple Id. There are also other links for changing her password and security questions, phone number and so on. In the area where she can change her email address, she can also add an alternative email address which, if she has one, is a good idea because then that can be used for password resets etc. It's a good idea to remember or bookmark the http://AppleID.apple.com website since it is by far the quickest and easiest way to make changes to anything related to your Apple Id including payment information etc. Regards, Sieghard -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the VIPhone Google Group. Re: having trouble creating apple Id
I just created my Apple ID from my iPhone. I had trouble doing it when trying to make my first download from the App Store, but I was able to do it successfully from Settings - Store and then clicking on the Apple ID button. Since I did this right after I got my iPhone, answering all of the questions was kind of tedious, but now that I'm a better typer on my iPhone, it wouldn't be as bad if I had to do it all over again. creating an apple id has an image-only captcha
Hi all. I was helping a customer create an Apple ID for use with their iPhone. Since they were not comfortable yet in doing this themselves on the phone itself, I figured I'd create the Apple ID for them on http://appleid.apple.com. However I discovered that there is a captcha when filling in the form and this captcha has no audio alternative. So, I wasn't able to complete the Apple ID sign up process. Just thought I would pass this along to you guys. -- Raul A. Gallegos Trouble in marriage often starts when a man gets so busy earnin' his salt, that he forgets his sugar. Re: creating an apple id has an image-only captcha
That's very ironic. How about using ITunes? I don't think you have to worry about a captcha in it. Also, Firefox with Webvisum is useful in Windows and Linux, and is minimally accessible on the Mac now, at least enough to solve captchas. Teresa On the other hand, there are different fingers. Re: Changing Apple ID and Apple 800 Tech Support Number
Wow. I never heard of a cable company discontinuing one building unless the manager signed some exclusive agreement with someone else. I was scared that we have dish in this building, but the manager had it run alongside Charter. If they took charter out of here, I would probably be stuck with 3G because the entry system is one of those all the lines pass through before hitting ATT, likely precluding DSL. Anyways, I think the store settings and Icloud should let you sign out. - Original Message - From: Raul A.
