Thank you very much for that comprehensive and detailed first 
impressions of the Watch series 3 device.


Mine won't be shipping for at least 3-4 weeks so the Apple Store order 
confirmation tells  me.


I did have the first gen Watch fleetingly, but found it very slow and 
quite buggy.


From what I've read Watch OS 4 which is of course backwards compatible 
        with older Watches   sounds promising.

been using it for a little more than 24 hours and that mostly connected via the 
iPhone.

I don't mind the way Siri works on the watch. I like reading the screen better than 
chatting back and forth with an assistant anyway. Today I asked Siri "What is the 
nearest cycling store" and got a single result with all relevant information 
including phone number and address.

I am learning about complications and faces and am still in the process of 
determining how I want to organize the watch for maximum efficiency. I am 
evaluating apps to figure out which ones really work and which are gimmicks. 
For instance, I was hoping to be able to use the Starbucks app to make an order 
via the watch but that is not possible. On the other hand, the Chipotle app 
will allow one to complete a new order from a past order.

I love how the Messages app works but am disappointed that I can't seem to work 
out what is causing Twitterrific not to work at all. I am not too concerned 
with that because one of the things I want to do with Twitter is view timelines 
and Twitterrific will not do that.

I am disappointed that there is not a Spotify app but I now have the pleasure 
of a subscription to Apple Music again. I speculated that Apple decided to hold 
its watch users hostage to its own music offering and may not be allowing there 
to be a Spotify app but I do not know that to be true. So I will pay for both 
services for the time being.

I am disappointed with the functionality of the TuneIn app not streaming 
directly to the watch as I use it a lot.

I enjoy the ability to get the seconds of time rather than just the minute. 
Fantastical has a quite nice interface, as does Mail. I am looking forward to 
experimenting with Downcast and many other apps.

I have never liked talking to my phone but have realized that I need to get 
past that and will endeavor to do so in order to take advantage of the features 
of the watch.

I am still an infant with regard to the Apple Watch but am happy with my 
experience thus far.

after setting up the pre-order she told me the twenty second would be the date

No, you can't. You don't insert any Sim into any of these watches. It has 
something inside built-in. So you need your phone and your phone number. So 
presumably, if you switched to a different carrier, all you would have to do is 
repair the watch with the phone. I'm not sure about that, but I don't see why 
that wouldn't work. It's one-size-fits-all as far as the wach  goes.

Awesome, what are your thoughts so far. I would have probably had mine
yesterday if I had signed the e signature in time. When I talked to
the rep after setting up the pre-order she told me the twenty second
would be the date I would receive it, but When I got the signature
done the next day, I got the 30th of October. I need to see about my
phone today so might see if I can just pick one up in the store.

I received my Series 3 watch ordered through T-Mobile yesterday. I also got the 
three months free LTE. I ordered via telephone at a little after 12:00 Pacific 
Time on the first day of preorders.

Must agree wishing you the best with your new series 3. For me
personally if I wasn't getting the lte version, I could save a couple
hundred and get a series 2. People are selling them on Ebay anywhere
from 200 to 300 for the normal models and I am sure that price will
drop a bit.

I called Apple and changed my order to the non-cellular model. The more I 
thought about it the more I decided I really didn't need cellular at all on my 
watch since my phone is always with me. When I changed the order, I save a nice 
chunk of money and my ship date got moved up from late October to sept. 25 - 
oct 3.

Well, I wouldn't anticipate using mine that much to talk, actually talk. I 
assume that this is active talk time. So if you were just out and about and 
wearing the watch without your phone, and you don't talk on it very much, but 
maybe check a few notifications or do some other stuff here and there. What 
would it be like then I wonder. I called my local store today, and they also 
told me that the only way to get the three month free trial was to go through 
them. That also puts the watch on your monthly bill, and I don't know if that 
raises the price at all. I also I'm not sure about getting Apple care if you 
get it through T-Mobile. Last I heard, T-Mobile was saying delivery sometime 
later in October, which I think corresponds to what Apple was saying.

Late october is what I was told as well, I wasn't looking to talk on
the watch so much besides I am going to cut apple some slack this is
version one of the lte model. Next year will be a new model.

Well, I wouldn't anticipate using mine that much to talk, actually talk. I 
assume that this is active talk time. So if you were just out and about and 
wearing the watch without your phone, and you don't talk on it very much, but 
maybe check a few notifications or do some other stuff here and there. What 
would it be like then I wonder. I called my local store today, and they also 
told me that the only way to get the three month free trial was to go through 
them. That also puts the watch on your monthly bill, and I don't know if that 
raises the price at all. I also I'm not sure about getting Apple care if you 
get it through T-Mobile. Last I heard, T-Mobile was saying delivery sometime 
later in October, which I think corresponds to what Apple was saying.

The fact that their native language that they speak, whatever it is, is better 
than mine, is totally irrelevant. I don't live there, I don't need the language 
they speak. I need them to speak the language I speak. And if they can't, there 
is a problem. That's all I'm saying. I certainly would not be able to do that 
job in a second language except for perhaps Russian, and we don't have any call 
centers in Russia. Go figure so I will never get a chance to make some Russian 
call center representatives life easier by using their language instead of mine.

I called a couple times just to check my order was right even though
on the T-mobile page it was. I am not buying my device out right
though. Going to pay the 45 down plus the sales tax. Then pay the
watch off in 3 or so months. Maybe get apple on the phone if you can't
get threw to T-Mobile.

That and I would venture to guess that their English is better than anyone's  
Tagalog or Spanish or Hindi who may be calling in. I work in the interpreting 
field and can attest as to how being able to dominate a second language to the 
point where you can find and hold down gainful employment and even more so  in 
such a specialized field to be no small achievement.

it will ask you to pick a carrier? No harm in giving it a try, you can always 
stop before finalizing the order.
As for overseas support, no company will get rid of it because here in North

this I would like to defend the overseas support agents, first of all, they can 
only be as good as the training they get and secondly I have had some of them 
who were awesome and I have dealt with north american based support where they 
had no clue, either. Apple is one such example, the few times I called Apple 
Accessible it was pretty good, but I have called the general sales line and 
dealt with people who were in the US who had absolutely no clue whatsoever what 
I or they for that matter were talking about.
My wife is from the Philippines and her sister works for a call centre now and 
over there that is almost akin to being a lawyer or doctor here, if you end up 
working at a factory 6 days a week for $8 a day assemblind the items we all 
want cheap it's a lot worse, my wife has done it when she was younger so I do 
know a bit what I am talking about and hopefully you all keep this in mind the 
next time before you feel like giving one of these people a hard time; it's not 
their fault they were born there or that our wealthy corporations go there for 
cheap labour so our welathy society can buy a $20 bluetooth headset on Amazon.

My problem isn't with where you live, it's when you can't communicate well 
enough with someone who doesn't speak your language, which I don't, so that the 
communications just don't get where they need to be. And no, you don't pick a 
carrier when you do the ordering process with Apple. I got all the way to 
having the stuff in my shopping bag, so that the next step would've been to 
pay. So no carrier selection. I should add that I was not rude or nasty to the 
representative. We just were not communicating. She seemed to say one thing, 
and then when I would repeat back what I understood her 12 said, the story 
changed and changed back. So, I think we have a language issue, something that 
I have not experienced with US based representatives. That isn't to say that 
they're all geniuses. I'm not a genius. But I do like to be able to have a good 
feeling that the communications between me and the representative have been 
100% clear. That doesn't mean you can't get wrong info, it just takes the 
language issue out of the equation.

Thanks, Anna. I've heard a couple of people talking about problems they're 
having with the iOS 11 beta, so since I didn't participate in that cycle, and 
have no first-hand experience, I will probably wait a couple of days to hear 
about the bugs and then decide if I want to order a Watch or just wait. I know 
I have to have iOS 11 to use this new watch. I really like the idea of being 
able to leave my phone at home, but depending on what the issues are with iOS 
11, an immediate upgrade might not be in my future. So maybe it's a good thing 
I'm having a problem with that email. Thanks again.

AT had no clue about the watches when I called last week to ask about their 
plan, so I ordered from Apple. I wasn't asked to pick a carrier during the 
ordering process, so I guess whatever linking of my watch to my mobile account 
and phone will need to be done once the watch gets here. So I don't see any 
advantage in ordering from the carrier.
