Hi Bill,
There are plenty of websites where you can order self adhesive address
labels.
I got a roll of 500 on a dispenser about 2 months ago when I moved
house for about $13.00

You can even choose a design for them.

Another way you could have done this project is using the Envelopes
function Print.

NOTE:If you want to print envelopes, first make sure your printer
is configured to print them and then place envelopes in the printer.

1. Select all the Contacts you want to print "Envelopes" for. I
have a Group "Family", so I select the first contact in "Family",
then "Edit > Select All".

2. File > Print

3. In the Print Window that appears, select Style: "Envelopes"

Envelopes: Click Layout and choose the type of envelope you’re
using. If you’re using a special envelope, choose Define Custom and
specify the envelope dimensions.

Click Label and then specify whether to include your return address
and which address to use for it. Choose the type of address to
print for each contact from the Addresses pop-up menu (for example,
print a label for each contact’s home or work address, or both).

Use other Label options to choose the print order, a country (for
international mailings), and an image for the upper-left corner of
the envelopes. To choose the direction in which to feed the
envelopes into the printer, click Orientation.

Cheers,

Hi Bill,

If you use Address Book v5.0.1 (which you would have in 10.6.2)

Mostly because that's where I keep my contact addresses.
Saves doing things more than once.

Hi Ronni, & List,

Yet again you have leapt to the fore Ronni, and
managed to do for me what I thought was not possible, the Templates listed
below work perfectly ( with just a very little amendment to my Address Book,
which was overdue anyway ! )

I think this List is very lucky to have someone
with your devotion & dedication & determination to solve other peoples
problems, and I for one thank you very much. ( and this in no way diminishes
the appreciation of time & effort all the other members who contribute to our
problem solving )

Thank you all

Are the Avery L7162 - 16 per page A4, dimensions 99.1mm x 34.0mm?
Also I will need the details for L7651 also please.

 Hi David & Bill,

I decided to have a fiddle around with a "Label Template" in Pages'09 to
be able to "Mail Merge" a "Group" from Address Book.
The completed Template will work with Avery Address Labels - 1” x 2-5/8” -
 30 labels per sheet (5160, 5260, 5520, 5630, 5660, 5960, 8160, 8250, 8460,
 8660) + more.

Because I also needed (as David for his "Return to Sender") to be able to
"Mail Merge" just my own contact details with this Template, I also
created a "Group" in Address Book named "ME" (which only has my contact in
 it).

 To use The Template:
 1. Double click on "Address Labels.pages"
 2. Once the Template opens in Pages go to Edit > Mail Merge
 3. Select a Mail Merge Source (select Address Book), then Select your
 "Group"
 4. Click "Merge"

One Page of 30 Labels for every person in your "Group" will be created.
If you only have one person in your "Group" (i.e - my "ME" Group), one
page of 30 Labels will be created.

If this Template is useful to David & Bill (or anyone on list), you are
welcome to use it. I have not tried printing from it yet, as my Printer is
 at the 'Printer Doctor' :-(
I can email it to you if you wish to try it.

 Cheers,
 Ronni

Hi Ronni,

that is just what I wanted, I hesitate to ask this after all
the hard work you've put into it, but I can't find where to set it for the 2
Labels I use i.e Avery L7162 & Avery L7651, Thanks once again for all your
hard work .

Hi Peta,

The Template is for Pages'09. It is for using "Mail Merge" of a "Group" from
Address Book, as explained below to David & Bill.

I'll email it to your private address and you can play around with it to see if
it suits your needs.

Hi Bill,

Yes, you certainly did open a "Pandora's Box"! It got us thinking about labels.

Where do I get the time/effort ... I have no idea? I do know I don't sleep very

Hullo Ronni

Did you mean that you have devised a Template of your own to work with Labels,
or were the instructions below, addressed to David and Bill, your guide for
working with the address book or with Keynote on the Apple?

If you have devised your own template to do this, if possible, I also would
very much appreciate working with your Template for Labels. At this stage I
have been continuing to use my Labels on my PC because I have them all set up
and I am very familiar with what I want to do. I would certainly be interested
in setting up all of this information on the Mac.

My attempts at using Avery Labels with the Mac did not quickly fall into line
with my wishes!

If this is possible Ronni that would be great.

Re: Label & addresses app.

2009-11-24 Thread Ronda Brown

Hi David & Bill,

I decided to have a fiddle around with a "Label Template" in Pages'09 to be
able to "Mail Merge" a "Group" from Address Book.
The completed Template will work with Avery Address Labels - 1” x 2-5/8” - 30
labels per sheet (5160, 5260, 5520, 5630, 5660, 5960, 8160, 8250, 8460, 8660) +
more.

Because I also needed (as David for his "Return to Sender") to be able to "Mail
Merge" just my own contact details with this Template, I also created a "Group"
in Address Book named "ME" (which only has my contact in it).

To use The Template:
1. Double click on "Address Labels.pages"
2. Once the Template opens in Pages go to Edit > Mail Merge
3. Select a Mail Merge Source (select Address Book), then Select your "Group"
4. Click "Merge"

One Page of 30 Labels for every person in your "Group" will be created.
If you only have one person in your "Group" (i.e - my "ME" Group), one page of
30 Labels will be created.

If this Template is useful to David & Bill (or anyone on list), you are welcome
to use it. I have not tried printing from it yet, as my Printer is at the
'Printer Doctor' :-(
I can email it to you if you wish to try it.

Cheers,
Ronni

Hi John,

Bill was wanting to print his "Return Address" on "Mailing Labels" to a
"Group" he has in Address Book.
You cannot as far as I'm aware include your "Return Address" on the "Mailing
Labels". Address Book does not have that facility.
You can, however, configure it to print envelopes with an addressee and your
return address, but this is not what Bill wants to do.

You can create a label in a word processor then replicate it on a label
template.
Pages, and other word processors have Avery label templates.

 Hi Bill,

If you use Address Book v5.0.1 (which you would have in 10.6.2) you can
 print "Mailing Labels"

 1. Select all the Contacts you want to print "Mailing Labels" for. I have

For dinosaurs like me who still fiddle with AppleWorks I use the Data Base
1	In Layout mode for Labels select how many labels across you
need and then create one label to the dimensions required and put in
the text.

2 Switch to Browse.
3	In Browse mode you see one label. In the Edit Menu is a
duplicate record command. Use the key board and hit Command - D the
required number of times to fill the page.

4 Print that one page as many times as required on a sheet of labels.

Hi Bill,

I would have thought the easiest way to do multiple copies of the same
address would be just to use the word template for the specific label sheet,
eg:
 for the 30 label sheet

Just copy the address and paste from label to label and then print out.

 Hi Bill,

If you use Address Book v5.0.1 (which you would have in 10.6.2) you can
 print "Mailing Labels"

 1. Select all the Contacts you want to print "Mailing Labels"
for. I have a

Group "Family", so I select the first contact in "Family", then "Edit >
 Select All".

 2. File > Print

 3. In the Print Window that appears, select "Mailing Labels"
Layout - you have Avery Standard, Avery A4, DYMO (I have a Dymo
LabelWriter 320 so I select Dymo)

Works great using my Dymo so I'm sure it would work well with
Avery Papers.

 Cheers,
 Ronni

Re: Label & addresses app.

2009-11-19 Thread Neil Houghton

Hi Bill,

I would have thought the easiest way to do multiple copies of the same
address would be just to use the word template for the specific label sheet,
eg:
 for the 30 label sheet

Just copy the address and paste from label to label and then print out.

Cheers

Re: Label & addresses app.

2009-11-19 Thread Ronda Brown
Hi Bill,

I don't know of a way to use the "Mailing Labels" function for multiple copies
of the same "return" address.

Another way you could have done this project is using the Envelopes function
Print.

NOTE:If you want to print envelopes, first make sure your printer is configured
to print them and then place envelopes in the printer.

1. Select all the Contacts you want to print "Envelopes" for. I have a Group
"Family", so I select the first contact in "Family", then "Edit > Select All".

2. File > Print

3. In the Print Window that appears, select Style: "Envelopes"

Envelopes: Click Layout and choose the type of envelope you’re using. If you’re
using a special envelope, choose Define Custom and specify the envelope
dimensions.

Click Label and then specify whether to include your return address and which
address to use for it. Choose the type of address to print for each contact
from the Addresses pop-up menu (for example, print a label for each contact’s
home or work address, or both).

Use other Label options to choose the print order, a country (for international
mailings), and an image for the upper-left corner of the envelopes. To choose
the direction in which to feed the envelopes into the printer, click
Orientation.

Cheers,
Ronni

Hi all, ( Ronda )
it worked like a dream, all my selected multi
addresses folders printed out great, Except that yesterday evening I spent all
evening trying to print my " return" address , I could only get it to print 1
(one) Avery L7651 on the sheet of labels, which it did perfectly, when what I
wanted was to be able to print say 20 or 30 of the "return" labels. I know I
must be missing something, I even created a new folder with just my "return"
address in , but it still only printed the one label. I just don't see where it
says anything about multiple print-outs of single addresses . Hope that makes
sense !
Printer is HP photosmart C6270 all in one. (
can't see it being a problem with the printer. it printed all the others great).

Grateful for any help you can give me

Bill, you've had many useful replies to your query -- just to say if
you don't really have a lot of labels, it may be easiest to get some
full A4 label forms and cut up the different addresses produced by the
suggested methods with scissors -- or even print on plain paper and
use glue to stick the labels on envelopes.

Afternoon all,

I'd just like to add a note. OpenOffice now has a native Mac
application which I'm lead to believe is better than NeoOffice is.
Could be an alternative option.

Big vote on mail merges, can be a massive time saving bonus. May take

Hi Bill,

If you use Address Book v5.0.1 (which you would have in 10.6.2) you can print
"Mailing Labels"

1. Select all the Contacts you want to print "Mailing Labels" for. I have a

3. In the Print Window that appears, select "Mailing Labels"

Works great using my Dymo so I'm sure it would work well with Avery Papers.

Also check out:

For how-to instructions and note that although they show this on windows all
the MS Word templates should also work just fine on Word on the Mac. Also
there is nothing to stop you using the templates with Pages or open office
or any other program that opens word files.

Hi Bill,

Many of the label vendors (Avery etc) have templates to suit their various
label sheet layouts - you then just use the templates with a normal word
processor.

Try here for starters:

Re: Label & addresses app.

Hi Bill,

Many of the label vendors (Avery etc) have templates to suit their various
label sheet layouts - you then just use the templates with a normal word
processor.

Try here for starters:

Re: Label & addresses app.

2009-11-18 Thread Eugene
Any good word processor including Pages, M$ Word and good old
AppleWorks can do a Mail Merge. This is where you start with a list
and merge it into a document.

I'm sure free software like open office will have this feature.

Label & addresses app.

2009-11-18 Thread Bill Cole

Hi all,
I wonder if anyone can suggest a good reliable " labels &
address " printing application that is compatible with my system .
all I want to do is print a few label ( not for cd's ) occasionally , (
christmas time etc to save my wife the laborious task of writing them)

I have done some searching, but most appear to be around the
$60 dollar mark, and for such a small usage I was looking for something a
little less expensive, but if there are none to suit my needs then I will pay
that.

Thanks
Bill
