2004-11-22 Thread jac
Hi Guys,
over the last week or so i've been getting approx. 20-30 emails per day
all containing the known text of the virus Win32.Sober.I - supposedly
from my other domain fireballmedia.ie. So last night I downloaded the
removal tool from Symantec but it didn't find the virus on my machine.
My virus definitions are uptodate & I also did a full scan last night.
I'm always very careful when dealing with emails and potential
infections but I am confused - am i receiving these emails cause my
machine is infected or what?? ANY advice would be appreciated.

e.g.:
This one came in and Norton had deleted the virus attachement...

Steven I couldn't agree more & I know I'd be hard pressed to come across
a nicer more helpful group of people in my daily life. If it wasn't for
this list I wouldn't have the clients I have. The advice, insight and
outright hands-on help with stuff when i'm stuck is priceless - I
couldn't get it anywhere else.

I don't mind at all - all input is appreciated & noted (if not on paper
then in my head) but sometimes I just don't have the time or energy to
follow up on extensive points. & if I can get the job to a standard
where the client is happy (& myself) then I'm eager to move on to the
next project. I have two companies and only me (& the excellent Stephen
Caudill) to get the work done. So besides all the brilliant help, I'm
hoping for a bit of understanding from the list if & when I don't get
around to properly follow up on advice given. But with regard to your
remarks for the new Lexus - when I eventually do get around to the
content I will go over your insightful points again and try to utilise
them when doing the writing & page headers. It's good that you see
things from a different angle.

cheers Steven!

[wdvltalk] RE: Web Hosts

2004-07-02 Thread jac
Peter, I'm using Fasthosts.co.uk for both Ingentus & Fireball since Feb
last year. I have no complaints regarding their reseller package or
their tech support but that said, i have read a lot of moans within
their own support forums. I think you'll always get somebody
complaining, but so far my experience with them is good enough. The
reseller package is £500 Sterling + VAT per annum.

[wdvltalk] RE: PHP Pages

2004-06-06 Thread jac
I don't get this - how is it possible for all the code to be visible in
Notepad when I view source and not render on the actual page in the
browser?

anyone?

Thanks Jon,
yeah i've since read that I'd need some stuff installed on my local
machine for it to render. So I uploaded it to the server and all that is
displayed is bg image of the page - no other graphics which is kinda
wierd but it at least means it is reading the linked style sheet from
within the head.php file! When I view source in IE it correctly shows
all the code that is being pulled in using the & but I must be
going wrong somewhere :o(

The url is http://domain625454.sites.fasthosts.com/index.php

Also, I'll give you the pages below and any help with this is really
appreciated!
