Two things...
1.) I'm really drunk after two days of drinking/football
2.) The ticket price is worth it alone to see Neil Landstrumm

3.) I'm going to bed - Up The Blades
I realize there's a lot of disappointment about the lineup so far,
but I look at it this way. There's going to be about six dozen
DJs with slots at this thing. *Some* of them are people you
may not have seen who will impress -- think of some of those
DJs and live performances in the Dutch tent
I'm sorry Fred, but i have never been to detroit, nor ever played at the
DEMF ;)
(which is why I'm especially
pleased when our homies like AO, Plaslaiko, Sean Deason and
Fab have rocked the house there).

As I sort of indicated, others' mileage may vary on Donald.
I haven't seem him play for a bunch of years, but saw him
often in 1993-96, some in Seattle and some elsewhere, and
generally he was pretty good and had a couple stellar sets.

i still have high hopes for the rest of the lineup, but such a generic initial

music festival is dead.. this seems just an electronic music festival in
detroit, with the scales tipped more than ever towards mainstream

yeah, sorta. i guess he is pretty full on into that sound now...but i heard
some set from late 2005 (maybe i grabbed it here) and it was pretty good...not
all clicky lifeless minimal

I bet the locals to come later will fill in the lineup nicely.
Exactly!=)
The site implies as much:
the 2006 Festival’s artist lineup, which featurespast festival directors Kevin Saunderson,
Carl Craig and Derrick May.
However,
btw, Fehlmann was wearing a Jay Lib t-shirt. wtf is Jay Lib?!
There's a hip hop producer named Jaylib; maybe it was a reference to him?

they think it will attract a non-specialist audience...
Not a very encouraging sign.
