SB128? Cirrus Logic? Huh? I thought they were all ES1370/7 based.
It is an SB128.

I must add, that for many of these things it is possible to reuse
existing docs. There just needs to be a clearly structured place from

Hi List!
I wrote some hours ago asking if someone knew the reason why my on
board via8235 chip sounds so bad even with the last release of libs,
utils and so on.. I got an answer which suggested to change the
enable-dxs module parameter to 1,2,3,4 and listen to the result. Well,
it continues

Hi,
today we reached ALSA 1.0.0rc1 release.
as its name stands, this is the "release candidate" for 1.0.0.
if no show-stopper bug is reported, we'll release 1.0.0 really
soon.
this version includes the following fixes since the last 1.0.0-pre3
release.
Drivers:
- fixed OSS emulation on kernel.
As some of you already know I am the occasional webmaster/docs

I have been planning some additions to the site to make it more

for a project where we want to measure voice quality in a special network
we need a way to connect 16 audio sources to a computer running Linux.
What is the best way to do this? One card with 16 input channels? Which one?
Or multiple cards with less input channels (say 4 cards with 4 chan

You can't.

Hi all! I installed the new drivers, libs, utils and so on my sys
(1.0.0.rc1) hoping that it would eliminate the output distortion of my
sound card. I have a via8235 on board card. Well.. the problem does not
disappear!! I know that on board cards are not so good but if I run

I also have a similar problem:
I wish to output sound from two concurrent applications through the two
output ports on the SoundBlaster Creative board with the ES1371 driver.
How can I direct output to a specific port and have the board output the
two outputs simultaneously into separate speakers?

Hello everybody,
I have recently installed ALSA modules and drivers on my new computer,
but I have problems to use ALSA with more than 1 sound application.
I have another one computer, with ALSA modules and drivers too, where I
can put more than 1 sound application in the same time. For instance
