Have you stopped and asked yourself WHY the sprinkler system hasn't worked in
years, WHY the fountain is broken and has been used as an open air bathroom and
garbage receptacle, WHY drugs are freely bought and sold in and around the
park? Could the answer possibly be that the city, i.e.. the

The city does a great job of keeping the park clean. And the city has quiet a
fewother problem areas that need police attention.
The park is ignored by the general public for some very simple reasons. First
off, there's nor a single park bench there. Secondly, because it's so unused by

I am on the fence about the dog park in Library Sq but I will give it a chance.
I guess its selfishness since only a few of us dog owners use it now. I walk my
little guy off the leash across streets etc. He probably wont want to go into
the penned area but I will give it a chance and see what
The park as a space is a failure in current day Asbury Park. It's not a
destination for anyone, it's an avoidance. The value of the park (or any park
for that matter) is for the people who have the right to use it as a public
space and with its current reputation, it's not very welcoming.

I had the fund of driving my mother in law's car back from florida a few weeks
ago - ALONE. I took advantage of it - I stopped in Savannah at night, woke up
early and took a 3 hour self-guided tour of the squares.
my dog was attacked by a pit last week - my apparent drug dealing neighbors
here in OT. My dog on my yard - off leash and their maniac that can only walk
at night - apparently got off his leash (a chain).
My dog more or less unhurt (just scared ) trip to Asbury Vet neighbor comes

The sprinkler system that your organization installed hasn't worked in years.
The dog park is exactly what is needed, because it's main use for the past 7
years that I've lived adjacent to it is a place where drugs are bought and
sold, street people use it as a open air bathroom, and the
Also, dogs aren't permitted at the beach area from May until Sept.
We dog owners will do our own cleaning up, exactly the way it's done at The
Wolf Hill dog park in Oceanport. Your organization should take a field trip
there to see how clean and beautiful it is. It would probably change your
Dear Mr. Thoman;
Library Park is truly a beautiful park and lovely setting; however, it doesn't
seem to the serve the community as a whole since it is all too often occupied
by those who vandalize that which you have worked so hard to improve. It
actually might be best for the preservation
Cameras. Your dog poops and only you and your dog are there. You give that
funny look around, don't pick it up cause your too lazy and think no one saw it
and walk away. The Poop Cam gets you.
I've seen people on dog beach walk away from their dog's poop - but a majority
pick it up.
