I agree about the smaller infractions but what in the world is Asbury
Park doing or going to do about the violent crime in the city? It seems
that the residents just take it in stride or are getting immune to it
(hope not!)...but are people from outside Asbury going to buy these new
condos
Do you think that the answer is when new tax dollars start coming in,
the city will hire more police? Hope so. I also heard a rumor that
there will be a new police sub station put on the boardwalk in the near
future...apparantly other shore towns have this.

I went the next to last council meeting, and I posed the question of when do
they think they'll

council. They never
even addressed it.
On the other hand, whenever I see AP police in action, they seem to be doing a

Wow. I don't get the blank stares...How do they think the developers
are going to sell $1M condos when people are shooting guns into the air
4 blocks away??? Paramount should be all over the council for that...

Fair enough point. The fact still remains though that crime, and
especially violent crime, seems to continue to be an issue. There is
alot of positive press coming out about Asbury Park...I get a weekly
letter from Tom Gilmour with what to do for the weekend and there are
lots of events
