I suffer the opposite...at 0db the music is at perfect loudness for the
size of my listening room but not loud enough to shake the
Transporter unbalanced output - DIY passive attenuators - Dynahi
(self-built) - Sennheiser HD650.
I may replace the Dynahi with a trimmed-down beta24 when I have more
money and time, but meh. It's pretty damn good already. :)

Wireless, you should also look at the Isotek mini-sub and the sigmas as
a very good alternative to the hydra, they are quite popular in Europe
but im not sure they are in the US market... The inclusion of the

Note Quest monos - Avantgarde DUO
And it sounds fantastic. The Transporter sounds best connected to the
Audio Note DAC, and therefore I'm not using it's internal DAC.

You'll never find out until you try. Removing the preamp from my system
was one of the biggest upgrades I've made for years. (And
My main issue with using the Transporter as a digital pre-pro is its
user friendliness for the family -- ideally the digital inputs could be
custom labeled DVD and Cable, etc. I don't have a problem using it
as is, but my wife would.

Transporter--Arcam C31 pre--Arcam P1 monoblocks--PMC FB1+ speakers.
Somehow the synergy in this system is better than with the
top-of-the-line Arcam CD player. Still not sure why. RCA and speaker
cables are Moon Audio Black Dragons.
I also use the Transporter as a DAC for my cable box and PS3.

wireless bridging feature to connect an NSLU2 (which is in turn acting
