Hmm sounds like a missing database index or something... anything in the

Based on my own experience I would have thought that it would take
40-45 min for a complete rescan.
Are you game on trying a clear and full rescan?!

I guess it's too late to ask, but did you enable all the scan.* debugging?

No, didn't think of it, but I will if it fails again. It's about
half-way through the second step (scanning new files).

You should be able to just abort the scan again, set new logging
settings and start over.
Keep in mind that in 7.6 (with SQLite) the server and library are
completely usable during a full clear rescan, unlike in past.

Any chance that the artist could get displayed along with the album name
in the New Music section of the web GUI?

I think Michael may have been fixed this just today.
Do you have the setting at Settings Interface Show Artist with
Albums enabled?
With r32814 (a couple days ago), if this is disabled then the artist is
not shown. With the latest revision, the artist is shown.

Now almost 4 hours later it appears to be finished, but it is not
showing the scanning complete message. The MusicIP import finished
about a half an hour ago and the status screen is just sitting there.

When doing a full clear rescan, 7.6 now builds a whole new library
database on the side, while keeping the current one in place. After the
scan is finished the new one is swapped in.
Try disabling the MusicIP

What do you mean by that?
I never had a problem with pre-7.6 (MySQL) - what problems were there in the
past?

How? When I browse artists, albums, etc. they are all blank.
Yes, you now have to wait for the first scan to fully finish before any music
can be played.
I don't know what would happen if you tried to browse music folder whilst a
scan is in progress - does this create content in the current DB

If that's not it, disable all plugins, run a full scan, then gradually
add the plugins back in until you figure out which is trashing things.
Could it be that CustomScan or Lazy Search is hooking into a new scanner event
to process before it reports scan complete (in the past these would kick in

True, but only during the initial scan. After you have a populated
library it's usable while a full scan is in progress.

I only have the default plug-ins at the moment. InstalledPlugins and
DownloadedPlugins folders are both empty. I was waiting to finish a
scan before adding plugins back. But, goodness, I sure didn't expect it
to be a multi-day ordeal!
Scanner.exe is is still in the task list, there is no crash
MeSue;643058 Wrote:

Disable the included plugins as well. MusicIP has been problematic in
7.6.
You might want to point the server at some subset of your music library
until you get this sorted out. Better yet, I recommend creating a small
test
Also... There have been a lot of problems with 'Abort scan'. It may or
may not be working correctly.
After aborting make sure there's no scanner.exe process running. If
there is, kill it. If you're having problems running the initial scan,
then you may as well also shut down the server and
Sounds like you have a problem unrelated to 7.6.
I have an EX490 server with 16,750 tracks, 7.5 would complete a full
scan in approx. 20 mins 7.6 does it in 15 mins. My EX490 is only a
2.2GHz Celeron so not hugely more powerful than your EX470.
As Slate suggested, I would have expected you to

I haven't had any problems with MusicIP. It's about the only thing I haven't
had problems with!
I have MusicIP set to retrieve mixable status only.

Okay, I found a few things and managed to get a successful scan on a
sub-set of my library.
1) There were remnants of a Firefly Media Server service that kept
trying to start on my server, several times per minute. It had
thousands of entries in the event viewer. I haven't used this in ages
and
btw: Could it be the problem had been (partitially) fixed with r32822
(lms) and is broken again in r32836? In r32822 You could at least add
artwork by playing a file...

What a nightmare.
The abort scan feature _must_ be fixed. You cannot require users to
delete the cache folder or kill a scanner process to recover from a
botched scan. You must be able to get back to a place where you can at
least launch a full scan from scratch.

You've _got_ to be kidding.
What a disaster this is going to be. As if 7.5.4 and 7.5.5 weren't bad
enough. Does nobody in charge at Logitech read this forum? You have
experienced beta testers and users who can't even get the server up and
running.
Unbelievable.

I'm more inclined to think that they've gotten to the point where
