I have heard of this same problem and it turned out to be a clogged oil hole passage. The BB Chevy has oil holes cross drilled in the block. Some have pipe plugs on the end of the holes one goes thru the oil filter area. Also on the back of the block if the pipe plugs go in too deep it can close

PREYes there were about 37 Yenko Novas sold in 1969 all were big block. Most had a 427/425hp transplanted in but there is some evidence that a few were left as 396/375hp. The 69 Yenko Camaro and Chevelle were factory 427 COPO cars but the 69 Nova was not. They started out as SS 396/375hp cars.

The rubber brake hose will expand with age but the outside will look ok and the inside closes up. They can get so tight that fluid will not return through the hose after the brakes are applied. This can prevent the brakes from releasing properly.
