I have heard of this same problem and it turned out to be a clogged oil hole passage. The BB Chevy has oil holes cross drilled in the block. Some have pipe plugs on the end of the holes one goes thru the oil filter area. Also on the back of the block if the pipe plugs go in too deep it can close
PREYes there were about 37 Yenko Novas sold in 1969 all were big block. Most had
a 427/425hp transplanted in but there is some evidence that a few were left
as 396/375hp. The 69 Yenko Camaro and Chevelle were factory 427 COPO cars but
the 69 Nova was not. They started out as SS 396/375hp cars.
PREThe early Monte Carlo used a 15 in plain steel wheel. I had a set on a 69 el
Camino and the 69 dog dish caps even fit on them.

The Cheetah was built by Bill Thomas to compete with the AC Cobras. It was light and very fast but didn't handle that well. Bill Thomas had a race car fabrication shop in CA. and did a lot of secret projects for Chevy. He was building a wild 63 Nova for Chevy with a fiberglass fastback body but

Chevelle in 69, LT1 Yenko Deuce Nova in 1970, Turbo-Z Camaro in 1981, Stinger
Vega 71-73. He tried to sell a turbo Vega but EPA would not certify it.
Yenko also built and raced many different cars.
PREThere were 99 Yenko Chevelles built in 1969. Yenko special ordered them as
double COPO Chevelles with the L72 427 425hp and 15 inch wheels. No El
Caminos or other year Chevelles are known.

PREIt is not a T5 but I was talking to a guy running a Borg Warner T10 4sp from
a mid 70s Camaro or S10 in his Chevelle. It has a super low first gear and
his rear end gear is less then 3:00 to 1. This gives him a high final drive
for economy. The first gear is lower then a Muncie M20 so he has
pull and push on the harmonic balancer to see if there is excessive crank end

The rubber brake hose will expand with age but the outside will look ok and
the inside closes up. They can get so tight that fluid will not return
through the hose after the brakes are applied. This can prevent the brakes
from releasing properly.
The Yenko Chevelle automatic cars used an aftermarket Hurst Duel Gate shifter
that came with a console. It was similar to a GTO shifter but was designed to
be installed as a replacement shifter. They have a nice retro look.
One of my projects for this winter will be changing the column

system.

They way I understand it, There is an SS dash with round gauges and then
there is the non SS dash with the sweep style speedo. The SS dash can have
gauges or can have idiot lights depending on options ordered.

The funny thing at englistown swapmeet is when a guy takes a whole car down
there and his tools and strips it for you wile you wait. Then they leave the
pile of junk there at the end of the day. I never saw this at other swaps.

The 409 is a good strong engine. It is not the greatest design compared to
the big block Chevy and is on the heavy side but it made 425 Hp as a 427 cu
in Z-11 engine and won many drag races in the early sixties.

On a 69 Camaro a BB engine is offset about 1 inch to pass side compared to a
SB. They did this to clear the steering box. My point is maybe it is not
supposed to be on center?

with all the sensors to monitor the air fuel ratios and temps, etc.? Are you
using a computer system where you can download the engine parameters? These
systems can help with trouble shooting and prevent

There are some good coatings that you can use to seal the inside of an old
gas tank. These are used on old cars and bikes where tanks are not available.

I would say to talk to guys in your area that install vinyl tops. I had
bought a top from Year One and brought it to a local installer. He said the
Year One vinyl was junk and showed me the top material that he uses which
did appear to be thicker and stronger material. The Year One top looks

shaft. Can you barrow another drive shaft from someone to try in your car?

In my opinion I find it hard to believe that one of the 200 production Z-16
Chevelles was a convertible For two reasons. One is because they were built
with very limited amount of variance in the options selection. Even the color
selection was limited. Two is they were built on a convertible

I like all Chevelles. I also like the mid 80s SS Monte Carlo which to me is
very similar to a 60s SS Chevelle. If I had to pick one year it would be 1969
because of the Yenko/COPO cars. The 427 L72 motor is one of the best motors

The 400 small block is not listed for 70 Chevelle. In the Chevy literature
the 400 small block was called Turbo Fire and the 400 big block was called
the Turbo Jet. The Chevy engine line up was a confusing situation in 1970.
They had a non-SS 400 330hp Chevelle engine that was really a 402.
What I do to test the secondaries of the Holley is take a small paper clip
and bend it so it clips lightly on the rod that connects the vacuum diaphragm
to the secondary butterfly shaft. Clip it on the rod in a way so after a test
drive if the secondary opened you will see the clip has moved
I had that problem also with ARP main bearing studs and also with ARP head
bolts on my 427. The headers didn't fit because the lower head bolts stuck up
too high with the washers. I hate the 1/2 socket head of the ARP head bolts
that don't look close to stock size. I don't use any ARP bolts

From what I have seen, The 69 SS 396 Malibu should have the small trim piece
between the headlights. A 69 SS 300 deluxe may not have them since the 300
grill does not have the center trim bar. I think many cars do not have it
today because of a new header installation or other body/paint work

to read some of it. The build sheet is made up of numbered boxes with a
code. You can have a 1/2 square with a numbered box and a code. If it is the
