Hi All,
I am working on my 69 Chevelle Malibu wich
has officially spiriled out of control and has become a frame off. All is
painted on the frame and the body is about ready to go back on. The problem I
have is the rear axle. It is an open 10 bolt and while I have a '66 12 bolt in

Hi,
You can take a gloss acrylic enamel
and add a flattening agent to dull the finish. It is a bit trail and error but
can be made what ever you want, plus add a hardener for durability and faster
drying. As for primer you can go DuPont Vari-Prime over bare metal followed by
an epoxy and
I will agree that the Hyd Extreme grinds are well
designed and go a step further and suggest you use Rhoades lifters for better

Hi,
Factory clear can be wet sanded with 400 - 600 grit and recleared. But be
sure to use an adhesion promotor prior to spraying the clear. It is a
solvent you spay on with your gun, it will help soften the factory baked
clear and let the new clear grab hold.

Basically all you need is a small
jornal 327 block, a 283 crank , 302 spec pistons (or the correct hieght if you

Hi,
What I remember is up to 69 it was a 396 and after 70 the bore was
increased .030 which made it a 402 but was still badged and called a 396.
Some cars like the Monte Carlo and I think full size it was refered to as a

Don't the early trannys have a stud/nut holding on

While epoxy is good it requires metal treating
whereas the Vari-Prime is a self etching primer which is not porous and it has a
longer gun life which decreases waste. And nothing against PPG, Vari-Prime is
the only DuPont paint I use, the rest is PPG, I just don't like the PPG self
etching
Just checking out eBay for stuff I need for my 69
and ran across someone selling build sheets! It is not bad enogh that everyone
and their brother is building clones, but this should be against the law. They
will even ''age'' it for you.
Base coat clear coat allows you to sand and buff
the final finish and is much more durable. PPG DBU works good.
As for primers I have had good luck with DuPont
Vari Prime on bare metal and for a high build primer use a two part primer. I
don't know if duPont still makes Uro-Prime. PPG K-36
Hi,
The AFB is easier to tune with metering
rods and or springs that take about 30 seconds to remove with out taking the
carb apart. And if you do have to change jets the top comes off and the fuel
stays in the bowls which is a lot less messy. And you don't have to worry about
leaks. I

Hi,
How are your pins and bushings? They can be
checked by just bearly opening the door and picking up on the rear, there
should be almost no movement if they are good. Chances are they are bad and if
replaced the door would be aligned again where the hinges are bolted
