Chad: not completely the case. yes the el camino frame will work but you need to cut 4 inches out of the back section. also the station wagon is the same length. the convertible frame is the same length as the hardtop. the nice thing about either the el camino, station wagon or convertible is that

Good move on getting another frame, I am going through this with my 69, it's a nightmare car.  Nothing is lining up the way it should b/c the frame is bent worse than I thought it was.  Also be prepared for the body structure to be screwed up in some places when you go to put it back together. Tom
