Hi.. I implemented IDS in both PIX firewall outside and inside interface,
but when I do a portscan on my PIX firewall's inside interface IP, I can't
see any IDS alarm on my PIX log. Why? Below is my IDS config on my PIX
inside interface.

Take a look at the NIC attached to that port - my guess is it is toast -
could also be the LAN cable. To rule out the switch port, move the
connection to another port and see if the symptoms are the same

That was the worst one I took. And, I hate it because of case study
questions. As a non-native english speaker, I spent 50% of my time to read
the cases over and over. I read the questions and answered them in less than
30% of remain time. Passed with 912/1000. For each of unclear questions
I do not claim to be a mac master here, but unless these are stoneage
macs, shoudnt they be 10/100 nics? Most of the cheap switches are indeed
unmanaged, so all you can really do is plug stuff in and look at the leds
on the front to see if youre getting 10 or 100, as well as half or full
duplex.
