exam, then a detailed "lessons learned" session the next day or half day.

It seems that most agree that ccboot and ipexpert seems to be the choice.
As you have mentioned, I think a good chunk of it can be done at home and
then we can rent the rack space periodically to do some of the more complex
labs..

NLI / Bootcamp, Fatkid, and the one sold through Cert Zone.
NLI is comprehensive. Their older Labs contain a lot of obsolete material,
but this does not diminish their value. NLI would like you to rent rack time

I second this recommendation - lotsa errors, but they're not crippling and
the labs are still very eye-opening.

Just my $0.02
I have the book...have used the book and it's probably worth the money
if your experience is somewhat limited or perhaps deep in certain areas
and shallow in others. It's very basic though...it introduces you to
many commands and appropriate show and debugs to make sure you've got
The book's a farce for true CCIE lab prep. It is not in any way enough
prep for the lab. It segment's everything into small portions, and gives
you step by step intructions it never puts it all together (totally unlike
the lab). Additionally, there is no bridging, DLSW+, voice
I think that the most telling statement you've made is that Cisco knows
about the book, and hence the lab proctors do too. So logically, this book
alone will not be enough to pass the lab.

I took 3 months and 1 week to prepare for the CCIE lab after passing the
written. I tried to get 4 hours of lab work in during the week and 12 hours
each day of the weekend. Sometimes more, and sometimes less.
While your milage may vary, this worked for me.
