I am having trouble changing the colours in the GTK2 Galaxy theme. In
/usr/share/themes/Galaxy/gtk-2.0/gtkrc, I can change the colours by modifying
the fg, bg, base and text values. For the most part that works fine.

I fully agree, but this is what the client dreams of.
Even if the gain is not worth the work, if it allow Mandrake to gain some
market share, it may be interesting.

On a fresh install of 9.1-bamboo (final) the /etc/lsb-release file still
reflects 9.0-dolphin.
Is this a bug or feature?
