not the current M105 mouse. Is that right?

some crappy cellphone headphones and the results

You seem to be using FVWM and the old Intel driver (not the current
one). So I would try eliminating those as possible causes.
1. Does the bug also occur in Gnome Shell Xorg sessions? (log into
'Ubuntu')
2. Please edit or move or delete /etc/X11/xorg.conf so that Xorg does
not load the 'intel'
Switching on connect is an intentional design choice for Ubuntu. If you
would like to disable it then please just comment out this line:
load-module module-switch-on-connect
in /etc/pulse/default.pa
So this isn't a bug, but it does seem to overlap with bug 1847570 so
please see that too.

The test system was 19.10 in virtualbox. I removed almost every
extensions, except for the built in ones (ubuntu dock, ubuntu

i got an email about released. I also notice on here that a fix has been
released. I don't see it as an update via software updates. How to I get
the fix.

One thing we discussed with Marco a bit earlier is that it would be nice
of apport included some flag if the gsettings cache was coming from
/usr/local which is a common cause for reports like this one

Thank you for your bug report. It's a consequence of the number of
panels and the way they are categorized, sort of known but also could be
considered as a design issue. It would be nice if they would fit on the
screen even for small vertical resolutions though
