This is somewhat tangential from the subject of a development guide. And it
is part documentation development and part software development. But there
is a crying need for an enhancement to the OOo interface and related
documentation.
The root problem is that the OOo interface is way more cumbers
- provide translation of code source of the devGuide on the wiki into
new languages (Basic, Python) in our own licence provided we're allowed
to ...some info on this ?
Now that's an idea. I was thinking more on terms of let's deal with a
single aspect of the information needed for development

Not sure that the "working with" is enough ;-)

Hi again,
You don't need a masters in English for writing documentation. Most
of the folks I met in Lyon have a sufficient knowledge of the
language to at least write some raw material that can be brought
into shape by native language review.

Also, don't forget that translating some doc into another language implies
providing screenshots in the same language. This means that the translation
effort is quite similar to writing a doc from scratch. Having done that once
for the OOo project
There is http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=70010 for this
project for anything you would like to attach for review and so on. I do
not have your openoffice username so could not add it to the cc list of
the task. Please do this.
I'll hop on board... not sure how much I'll be able

Thanks. Please review the existing guide so you get an idea of what is
involved. You can see this on-line at

Yes, that is the point - I am trying to volunteer to help.
I might volunteer to help with the Dev Guide. While not a polished writer, I
am fairly handy with a computer program and one of the things I have done is
translate many of the examples in the current guide from Java to OOBasic.

Hi,

- Talking about other projects: do we also go through
the developer projects to harvest what they write?
Hmm - I don't think this is necessary in general. As you wrote in one of
your other posts, the IT language is english. So when it is technical
documentation, then I don't
