It looks a copy of faad is installed so if synology have built the
correct version of faad (there are patches and for a 209 it probably
needs a special compile switch) then the problem is elsewhere.

What a POS.

The problem of not being able to shutdown is after SC has been closed.
I thought the problem might be the keep-alive or wifi option, but no
combination of settings helped. I've tried with both off, both on, one
or the other... same problem.
The problem is still even there with starting SC then

Hi,
The Danish national radio and television network, DR, just featured a
review/comparison of Sonos vs. Squeezebox in their gadget-review program
"So Ein Ding".
In conclusion the Squeezebox got 4 stars and Sonos 5 (out of max. 6).
As for the Squeezeboxe's, he featured the Duet, Radio, and Boo

+1. I'm running 7.3.3 for quite a while quite successfully. There are

But as long as it is TCP/IP it should work all right.

I forgot.
Of course I will also look into the shut-off problem.
It would help a great deal if you could figure out which settings
(auto-Wifi, keep-alive) have an influence on that faulty behaviour.
Does that problem occur when you start and end SlimCtrl right away?
Without browsing or anything.

Hey there.
First off, excellent program you're developing here. It's coming along
very nicely and I look forward to future development.
A few observations/questions/suggestions if thats all right.
I've been testing SC on a HP Ipaq 200 series PDA. Its fairly modern
unit with ~630mhz and 128ram.
I bought the Linux Revo 3600 and put Ubuntu 9.04 on it. Happily running
SBS, Twonky and various other stuff. Currently I have a couple of USB
drives attached for storage, I want to use eSata but apparently ION
doesn't have a port multiplier so no connecting one box with multiple

I had some success using Privoxy and Tor, though I'm not using it at

That isn't the only issue to

You can check whether "faad" (which does the AAC transcoding) is
installed by looking at WebUI Settings/Advanced/Filetypes and under the
AAC type - if the Flac and MP3 options are greyed out or disabled then
faad is not installed.
What model Synology ?
