Thanks everyone ... I guess I had been hoping there was a way to
prioritise the streamed music over the file transfer, but it looks like
there isn't. I don't think it is a CPU / disk problem. Will probably
just have to live with it. However two thoughts come to mind:
1) I might upgrade the server

My Squeezcenter is hardwired by a crossover cable to my Squeezebox 3.
Everything has been working fine for ages but last night I was going
through the network setup on the Squeezebox itself when it said it
"couldn't find the DHCP server"
Your SB3 and your computer are _only_ connected to each other, yes? In
such case, I'd set a static IP on both of them.

Go wired with your SB3, seriously. If you can't be doing with running
lengths of Cat5e or Cat6 cable in (entirely understandable) then just
get a couple of powerline ethernet adpators. Google is your friend.

linux computer with the editing software, bought a preamp, found a new
cartridge and needle for my turntable, bought a record cleaning kit,
and went to work. I stopped after about 3 albums. Just too much effort
involved.

has left me rather uninspired. Squeezepad will do nothing to help me
discover my lost music or find the right music to suit my mood. The

I bought SqueezeCommander a couple of days ago - looks gorgeous on the
Super AMOLED screen of my Galaxy S. Quite a nice application, but one
thing REALLY bothers me. Selecting album list and scrolling down - it
takes way too long for the list to update making it quite difficult to

from the web UI settings > advanced > software updates
turn that off .
Advanced tab defaults to "formatting" note that little arrow click on
that and you have a whole menu to choose from including software
updates.

settings it says address for server is 192.168.0.3. I didnt realise I
had to add the :9000 on to get the full server address. It took me a
number of hours of looking at "server not connected" to work this out.

A few years ago I bought myself a 100 foot ethernet cable that I coil up
and keep in a drawer. If I ever have any kind of network "problem" I do
a quick ethernet hookup. Whether the network problem is solved (or not
solved) I pretty much have figured out where to look next. I aslo use

I am trying to synch a SB2 and a receiver. I am getting a 'blip' /
interrupt 3 to 6 seconds into each track if I select 'maintain
synchronization while playing' on the player settings.
Running 7.5.2 r30889 on win xp pro. Both players are hard wired on

Not with SqueezeCommander directly but flatterman also p
To advance any further you'll need to install Linux on the PS3, without
it you won't be able to communicate directly with Squeezebox Server.
I just run PS3 Media Server alongside with Squeezebox Server on my
server, to access my music library from the regular interface of my
PS3.
