My squeezebox has a temperamental plug, too.
I just moved my router, which touched the plug, and it rebooted. I then
pulled and re-insterted the plug, and... nothing.
No life in my Squuezebox 3.
I'm going to do a full reset (xlinx, too), just as soon as I find out
how...

I've heard that the AC adaptors on SB3s are not very reliable.
There is lots of info on this on the forums. You can also find the
requirements for a new AC adaptor.
I'd say this is very likely your problem.

I haven't embedded album art in any of my files. I simply have cover.jpg
located in each album folder.
Works a treat.
And for my 2c, FLAC will -really- improve your music navigation/query
experience. WAV has only disadvantages.

cancel out the
PSU as being a problem just because the little red light is on.
If it happens again, I would consider a new PSU.
The required specs for PSUs have been posted on the forums many times;
just do a search.

Are you sure you're connecting to the correct IP?
If you run DHCP, it's very likely that since restoring your network,
your server now has a different IP.

I agree with the low power PC route.
I'm getting rather sick of the slow response in SqueezeCenter due to
running it from my ReadyNAS Duo.
I've even considered putting the original 500GB drive back into the
ReadyNAS and selling it so I can buy a low-power PC as a replacement...

has finished (just keep your eye on the "recently added" menu), but that

I use analog out for this reason; my speakers (and their in-built DAC)
don't have a remote control, so I have to rely on the SqueezeBox to
adjust the volume. Plus, the DAC in the SB3 sounds good to me, so I'm
happy sticking with it.

I may just end up having to remove the playlists
It's not quite the same, as slimserver scans the playlists without
problens, and they play fine until they reach an entry that contains an
international character, then they halt until I skip the track.

Looking at the players now, it seems the buffering message doesn't
actually come up; the Squeezebox screen just shows the title of the
song it's about to play, with no time elapsing. It can remain in this
state for 5 seconds before the music starts.

I'm running Slim Server 7.2 on a ReadyNAS Duo with 1GB RAM.
One SqueezeBox Classic is connected via ethernet to my D-Link DIR-655
Router, and the other is connected via a WPA2 WiFi Connecti

So when you set it up, make sure you enter the model number as
"Squeezebox Classic", not just "Squeezebox" (or was it "Squeezebox 3" I
entered, not "Squeezebox Classic" - either way, be
compilations? Also, if I DO need to create them, what was the point of
having the COMPILATION flag when ALBUMARTIST does the same thing?
