Whilst removing the 5v supply board from a TP for a preventative recap,
I discovered that one screw was never installed on TP's mainboard, right
at the mains inlet socket, nearest the fuse holder.
These are all non-magnetic T10 screws. And the local hardware store is
useless in these matters.
Try a known-good substitute power supply first. This is step one with
any Classic at this point.
Most of the original SB3 PSUs are now well past their projected service
lives.
If you still require a factory reset to clear a bad setting, press and
hold the "1" button on the remote.

An update. Changed some settings back and forth to clear the existing
ones from the config, and the display glitch is now fixed. I just
didn't deal with it before now.
It was not a priority, and is still not much to think about, as this
client hides behind a door. Now I stare at an undecipher
We are running LMS 8.2 without any difficulties, serving ten SB clients.
Everything works fine, except for one small screensaver glitch on a
TP.
On that client, the display is set for a 30 second delay time before
going to a blank screen screensaver (none, & idle brightness at 0), but
almost imm
As I mentioned in a thread a couple months ago, I am not encountering
any problems with SB Radios and other wireless SB clients in an Asus AX
mesh system. We have Wi-fi 6 fully enabled, and both 2.4 and 5ghz bands
operating.
The trick we have found to maintain stability is to bind the wireless

This may be controversial to the anti-RAID contingent who views audio
and video files as static data, but another option is a quality
outboard HW RAID enclosure to the server machine of your choice.
We have a similar library to the OP: rapidly approaching 15TB. We have
not just a lot of media,

the circuits and their respective loads on energizing, every t

This is a nice thread to follow. I do a lot of electronics servicing
and restoration, from ancient tube classics to the later high end
pcb-based gear. Ive worked on a few Squeezeboxes over the years.
For beginners in electronics servicing, desoldering and removing smd
style caps is little diff

Any local electronics vendor selling a 5vdc/2a or better wall wart
supply will do. You can do a fast and dirty spl
I agree with Phillipe on this one. If you pulled the wi-fi card and it
is still rebooting, then it is likely the mainboard.
The output couplers are the typical cap failure point on these. And
that would not cause this problem. If you want to take a blind stab

No flames intended. I dont consider 24-bit audio that much of an
audiophile talking point in 2018, especially when a $200 Chromecast
speaker can now pull it off.
Anyone building any reasonable audio system today should expect 24-bit
playback capability. Its now mainstream. And it sounds appr

24-bit audio.
Unless Sonos has had a major philosophical change recently, the last I
checked they refused to support 24 bit-audio.
And their stated corporate rationale for refusing to do so was as
insulting as it was nonsensical: That 24-bit audio "doesn't sound any
better than 16-bit". Maybe

Agreed. While an individual player can live on a stable wireless
connection, a server feeding multiple streams (ethernet or wireless)
works best on a gigabit
Oh my, such a broad question. There are literally endless combinations
of combined and discrete configurations. It will all depend on your
priorities, budget and objectives. Perhaps one way to give you an
option tree is to describe what we have.
Ours is truly an audio and music retreat. We

How is local control at the Mondo+ client with the plug in?
The Chromecast plugin has been a real godsend, and it is great for
feeding our library to a TV sound bar or other Chromecast device.
But all control appears

No, I didn't mean it that broadly.
Agree with all the others. Stock up on spares and known failure parts.
In my experience, the SB ecosystem has proven fairly durable and robust.
And knowing how to repair the known failure points on some models, and
what steps to take to reduce wear on those components, and to work
around them
Many thanks for keeping this great app updated.
We have used it every day in our Macs for many years. I don't know how
we would get along without it.

Agree with the others. Start with the PSU. Try a fresh one to be sure.
They are cheap. The Classic only needs 1A at the output.
But the wi-fi card on these do fail, and they disrupt all networking
when they malfunction. I'm reasonably sure you can run one of these
without the card on ethernet
We have been quietly riding Squeezeboxen for over a decade now, with
Classics, Radios and Touches all over the house (never had a Boom
though). Even have a Receiver in a basement closet tied into our Nutone
intercom system -- and it plays nicely though a dozen stations when we
don't want to burn t

But I'm sure they all know about iTunes as they sync their phones and
pods to it, and watch Apple TV via AirPlay through it. Not that much

Now that Logitech has clumsily killed their baby, why doesn't the
original Slim Devices team just buy the essential IP and keep it going?
It should be cheaper than what Logitech paid for it, and I'm sure Andy
knows how to revive it in the right direction again.

trick is having a strong server system.
I run ours through a modulator into our TV distribution system. With
an RF remote kit (http://www.nextgenerationhomeproducts.com/), we have
a private HDD-based video library that you access and watch on every TV
