Hello, Any recomendation for PS for K2? Which to choose, switching supply or not switching? Whats the difference between switching supplies and not switching supplies? Pros and cons... I'm wondering that ELECRAFT hasn't devoloped PS to match design for K2 or K2/100? Thanks _

For my K2, I went with the Astron RS-20M supply. It is a linear supply, not a switching supply. I went that way because I knew it would work, would generate no noise and would be something I could service down the road. I got the 20 amp supply even though my K2 is only 10 watts output. Someday,

You could measure power accuratly using the scope and a dummy load. Measuring power at the load with a 300 ohm dummy load and balun and then, in a seperate test, measuring it with a 75 ohm load and no balun would give you a rough idea of balun losses. This would show balun losses if they were

My test data indicates that my K2 / 100 is happy with the Gamma power supply. The K2/100 is specified to run ok down to 11 volts. The K2 is more tolerant than many rigs when run at supply voltages down to 12 volts minus line drop. As I stated, the Gamma does run 100 watt cw with the K2/100. T
