Just finished the project this evening. Things fit perfectly! Here are

Actually, I trace the linage back to HAL Electronic's Spectra-Tune, sold

However, HAL had to use a dozen ICs to accomplish the task, and it was
not programmable.

Hi Folks,
When I first used my Weller sodering station (700F), it was practically
impossible to strip the wire. I found an old 100 Watt soldering iron, thats
gets really hot after 15 minutes, and the enamel flies off the wire. Just to
give it a try!

In general terms, the design is very similar to quadrature phasing receivers
used for SSB operation, except that since the bandwidth in this case is very
narrow, the 90 degree audio phase shifting network becomes r

I think it's more appropriate to compare the prices of US-manufactured
products like Ten-Tec and MFJ. Both UK and US dealers buy Japanese products
direct from Japan, where the strong pound and weak dollar vs the yen give
us a relatively better deal.
Anyway, I am very reassured to read Eric's st

Hi all,
Elecraft has announced their new super transceiver,
the K3. It sounds like being a real super duper for HF

The K3 is no more a kit for the hungry homebrewers

For over 55 years, I've always cleaned the ends of
enameled wire by scraping with a sharp blade on
my pocket knife. With practice, it doesn't take
much longer than using the "melt it off" approach,
but it' s always with me, whereever I may be :-)
Good luck and 73

I do hope Elecraft to reconsider way of selling K3 to JA.

It would seem to me that new rigs today might benefit from a built infra

accessory a wireless paddles, perhaps even a wireless touch paddle. Of
course the same could be for microphones for those that are not CW only.

Gary,
In the interest of obtaining a better tinning of the leads as an end
result, I would suggest that you continue to 'waste solder' and use the
solder blob method.
While a lighter flame will remove the enamel, in my experience that
technique leaves a residue that inhibits tinning the lead
