the lash up is. When using the
KX3's IQ, I turn down/off the radio's audio and do EVERYTHING on my
laptop. I do use the line in to my laptop when I want to use the radio
as intended but want greater audio than is available from the radio's
speaker. What am I missing??

Jeff,
I don't know what problem you're having, but I run without any
additional isolation with no problem. I go directly from my KX3 IQ out
to my soundcard. Try it and see if you really need to go to the extra grief.

Mike,
I have the MH3 on my KX3. The reports I have gotten are all
positive. I haven't done a thing with the TX equalizer, but I did crank
up the compressor a bit. With 10 watts PEP, I can get across Europe.

No balun.
Don, no loose connection I can find. Simple setup and the high reading only
happens on 12m and is consistent.

Vic,
I think you're on to something. When I vary the power, below 85W, the SWR
is 1:1. Above 85W, it starts creeping up with the power increase.
If I put some ferrites on the coax, but want to keep them indoors, is there
a best location for them?

working for somebody before I order one.

Does anyone have experience with the subject combination? I just tried
using a newly-purchased version of my trusty old Keyspan USA-19HS and it
crashes Windows 7 (blue screen) when I try to TX with F1. Worked fine with
XP. I'll order KUSB if I get OK reports here. TIA!

Thanks, Gerald. Apparently the Keyspan uses a TI chipset and I did try
their latest drivers. BTW, I have a K3 (connected via P3) on the serial
cable.

I use the Rode Procaster, but I feed it through an Aphex 230. The Procaster
is a superb microphone, but I've honestly not tried connecting it directly
to a radio.

How do I bridge the serial outputs? I don't believe the K3 knows
which program it is talking to, so is it as simple as making a Y cable
for the serial ports? Or do I need some other active device (and
software?)?
Thanks and 73, Barry K6RM

Jim,
Good idea, but there is bandwidth limitations on some of those
small transformers. You may not get more than about 20 or so KHz before
there is drop off. You might want to do some checking before you go
operational with your scheme. Best of luck with the idea.
