Win 10 should discover the converter cable by itself and you then just look

I am still troubleshooting my KAT100, and now I am
wondering if the problem might be the aux bus.
When the 9-pin connector is attached to the K2, and
the KAT100 is disconnected - should there be 5-6 volts
DC on pin 6 ? I see voltages on pin 8 and 9, but
nothing on pin 6. (And yes i verified th

Hint -- there is an app note on the Elecraft site for
wiring up your own PSK interface.

I am at step 1 of KAT100 testing. When K2 is turned
on, indicators default to Ant 1 and Low Power. I cant
get them to change, as my ATU is unrecognized. I am
using latest firmware. I have traced the Aux bus from
my K2/100 board all the way into the KAT100. I
reflowed all the solder joints at t
winding those cores) is part of
the fun ... when you have another rig to use in the
mean time.
I am not fretting (pun intended) lack of sunspots, or
not having $$ to buy a K3 ... its K2 (or K1 or KX1)
time for those not enjoying the latest rig.

tools are up to the job.
i enjoyed my stock/QRP K2 for many years on various
modes. be glad yours has the mods built-in as my
older K2 has a bunch of jumper wires. see where your
journey takes you with yours.

down a bit, and folk will
continue to use and advance their K2's. These rigs
are 'merely' windows into enjoying what propagation
(and what antennas we can deploy) allows. So those of
us with mere K2's or K1's or KX1's can continue to
thrive.

icely matched where I
operate - so not much utility for the KAT100 here.
So will a KAT100 make my QSY more seamless, and what
balun to use and how to integrate it ?

Never miss a thing. Make
for a building experience but not as fun to use
on congested bands.
if you really expect to do some portable operating,
rethink your expenditure into a simple rig vs. a K1 or
KX1.
