I think that would be a rare situation for most people. I also think that,
even without a narrow roofing filter, the K3 would cope with a very strong
close-in signal better than most other radios. So I would hold off buying

Hmm. It's probably some sort of embedded computer. I don't know why they
didn't go the whole hog and use one with a built-in sound card so you could
have two-way audio streaming as well. Perhaps next year'

you want to talk to it from a different one elsewhere on the network. It
would avoid the cost of one of these adapters. But now I can't find the

Can anyone advise me of the spec of the crystal needed to use a SoftRock 6.2

nobs it might cause Elecraft a
bit of a problem. But if it's more likely to be when, rather than if, I join
the fractured knob club perhaps I ought to ask for some spares.

I don't know what the answer is short of a European distributor that also
carries spares and handles servicing.

To be honest I don't think they suit the look of the K3. They don't even
match the other knobs. It might be a solution in ten years time when a knob
breaks and Elecraft doesn't make them any more, but that's the situation I&
knobs on the IC-7700. I think I'd go for it.

nk perhaps it is suggested to check the transverter output if you
install the KVX3. But I never bothered when I installed the KXV3 later on,
due to oversight. As long as the output is sufficient to drive the
transverter, you can just adjust the drive until you get the correct amount
of power out.

A solution that would definitely avoid any hassle caused by generic sound
card drivers would be a dedicated ham radio interface such as a SignalLink.

The other filters have a different offset so when going from TX to RX the VCO
has to change. For some reason it is changing sluggishly and causing chirp.
Have you done a VCO calibration?

If you used KComm you could key the K2 / K3 using CAT commands so you would
not need any extra co
ecking, that looks like one of the things that would only appear
when TECH MD is ON. have you turned it off?

Sorry I don't have a W2 so perhaps I'm barking up the wrong tree here. But I
do know that I can't use the latest version of Fldigi with VSPE, which does
suggest to me that some programs may not like working with VSPE for some
unknown reason.

Julian,
experience
the problem you describe.
I suspect that you were using some kind of logging software. If it tries to
set the mode instead of leaving it to the K3 to do that then it could be
causing the problem.
