Thanks to all who offered comments I went with an N0XAS PicoKeyer
(hamgadgets.com) - this is pretty much the same keyer as the RockMite upgrade
chip, in a small stand-alone board.Easy build, works great and has Ultimatic
mode.Still, someday in some future rom upgrade it would be nice to
roms for adding this mode in some future release?
(Not asking about K2 'cause I don't own one... yet. K3 seems like more radio
than I need, but awesome nevertheless.)
Thanks,

This looks like a super accessory, but I am a little concerned about carrying
the bare board around for field use. Is a case for the W1 in the works, or are
there any 3rd party cases you know of that might fit?73,Mike N2HTT

Just curious if anyone who has installed the K6XX SMD zero-beat

I finally got a chance to try my KX1 on 80m last night. I've had the new
KXB3080 installed for several weeks and did the resistor/L3 power mods, but
haven't actually gotten on the air before now.
Late yesterday, about 2330 EDT I heard a weak station at around 3720. Zeroed

after all I did answer the supressed image first :-)

Yes, you heard an image. All superheterodyne receivers (like the
KX1) that
use a BFO for CW/SSB reception have two of them because they have two
mixers: one at the input to convert the signal

I read about the resistor mod, but that would raise output on all bands, maybe
pushing 30 and 80 up above 4 watts, perhaps not a good idea.
Is there an adjustment I missed for 20 and 40?
