quite low for the weak station, I was consistently able to pick him out
under the loud station. It's amazing how quiet and clean the K3 sounds when
the gain is throttled in this manner.

This weekend I removed a birdie on 20m ssb and did notice a "hole" in
the tuning - tuning seemed to jump 100hz+/- as I was tuning in a ssb station
that was right on the "cleansed" frequency. I undid the birdie
removal because the faint birdie was preferable

I was going to suggest an LC filter for non-critical work. If Elecraft would
supply "replacement" carrier boards with the pin sockets either mounted or
available it would be nice.
Inrad has supplied these blank boards at a reasonable price ($10?) in the past

Looks like the TT Eagle has some real tough competition in the TS-590.
Personally, I think TT's goal with the Eagle is to field test the bones of
their new hf architecture that we will see down the road in a full-featured

My interest in the audio mixing enhancement is limited to non-diversity use
of the subrx, i.e. with main rx on vfoA and subrx on vfoB tuned to a
different station.
The K3 already provides all the control I need for diversity reception.
