Dear fellow colleagues,
As many of you already know, I haven't been able to
keep up the pace with RCIC maintenance. Although all
the EMC-PSTC/TREG messages are still automatically
archived in the RCIC databases, the messages since
1999 are browsable but not searchable in RCIC at this
time. It gen
I appreciate your input on automated radiated/conducted
emission test softwares beyond HP and R&S. The
software should be CISPR 22 or ANSI C63.4 compliant.
You experience with the software will be very helpful
to me as well.
If you are a vendor, please send your information
directly to me at t.
Anyone please tell me where to get Mil-Std? I used to
know it's somewhere in Princeton, NJ or Philidelphia
area. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Peter, it's one of my favourite topics.
Try ANSI C63.6-1988 Guide for the Computation of Errors in Open-Area Test
Site Measurements, a couple of page standard, but it has some references
as I remember. I would appreciate you share some of your findings, offline
if not many interested.

I conducted a survey in TREG and EMC-PSTC on
April 10, 1997 with the intend to find out what is
interested to each group of colleagues, TREG and
EMC-PSTC so that I may send my questions to the
right group without annoying the other. My grateful
thanks to those who participated in the survey,

Greetings,
I talked with a colleague about the new FCC 15.32 on test of CPU boards
this afternoon. We reached the following conclusion.
Test Condition Margin CPU board Pass/Fail
1. cover removed less than limit pass
2. cover removed over limit not
As more and more colleagues joins treg or emc-pstc, I always
ask myself a question. Which group should I send my question
to? A general pratice we have seen here is to send it to
both. Probably most of us do not care but it would be nice
to know which group is more likely interested in my question
Please help Heiko. Thanks.

Can anyone give me some background or history information on how the
radiated and conducted emission limits were determined by FCC and CISPR, in
terms of the field strength level? Any research supports the limit level?
Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Probably not many people in the group interested in the topic. If some
of you are interested, I'll setup a web page for SAR. It may benefit
others when SAR is getting hotter.

I promised Mirko that the guide will be available in RCIC by the
end of last week. Well, sorry for the delay - many excuses :).
But I've just finished the markup. Here is the URL

which is located under RCIC regulation/standard section. Enjoy!

Table 3 in EN 61000-3-2 gives us two limits to satisfy with, one is
maximum permissible harmonic current per watt (mA/w), the other
maximum permissible harmonic current (A). The power limit for Class D
equipment is 600W so that you always have to meet the maximum
permissible harmonic current per w
Hello all,
You may have noticed that there were several old messages sent to the
groups from RCIC recently. It's a script problem when I tried to archive
those messages. Along with the other truncated message problem, I decide
to disable the VCH-to-Groups mail function until all of these problems

Jim, the problem does exist when you are trying to send a message
with double quotes to EMC-PSTC or TREG from RCIC message archive
(VCH). That's because of my limited programming ability.
If you directly sent the message to the group, I'm afraid
that's the problem of your mail path. I have the s
