Jim,
When I referred to mail-order in my earlier post, I was not referring to
solely mail-order suppliers, but to shops with no more than, say, three
sites. Just like B&H.

I saw a 300D body in my local Jessops window today. The price was list.
The new EF-S 18-55 lens was not shown, so I do not know if they had one in.
Still, all those who have ordered the 300D will now know that its arrival is
imminent.
For those who do not know Jessops, they have over 240 branches
Still no sign of 10D prices dropping in the UK.
What a surprise!
At these new lower prices, for everywhere else, the 300D is going to be
squeezed on price, even before anyone has bought one, which can't be bad
news.

Thanks guys,
I said that it was subjective, and obviously I was right.
I used the Prime as an example, because it is a similar price to the 8000F.
Canon never released the 2720FS in the UK, so if I go for a film scanner, I
will probably go with the Minolta Scan Dual III.
Pricewise, this would com
Having decided that I shall eventually go digital, it doesn't seem a good
idea to invest in a film scanner for my old slides and negatives.
Has anyone tried a recent flatbed, such as the Canon 8000F, for film
scanning.
How good are the results, and is it a viable alternative to a film scanner.

If you use a lens set at 22mm on an EOS 10D, with flash, does the camera set
the flash to as wide an angle as possible, or does it do the 1.6
multiplication and set it to 35mm focal length?

We all know that the slowest recommended hand-held speed for a lens is the
reciprocal of the focal length, but is this only for 35mm or does it hold
true for larger format, and more importantly for smaller such as a digital
sensor?
If I handhold a 200mm lens, then I shoot at say 1/250th of a secon
