I don't believe that at all what proof do you have the cells need to be
compressed? A
Hi Willie and All,
Be careful buying nicads strange to you as many, most have
very low power, amp output. Check their model specs first as only high output
ones are useful for us.

On Sat,
Paul,
Every time the cell is at the top of charge, it will expand.
Don't compress and you will likely burst it in short order.
I have taken apart packs that were used *with* the Leaf BMS
so charging has always kept them under 4.115V max but when I remove
the nuts that hold a stack in compression,

John,
One of the US Electricar owners just pulled his BB-600 out of his truck
since several had died and excess electrolyte was eating the alu box.
He has appropriately replaced them with a Leaf pack. I will shoot him an
email with your question to see if he wants to sell/ship to you,

I recently replaced a set of 4 12 volt deep cycle lead-acid batteries (280lbs)
with a set of lithium ion batteries. (80 lbs). They are new and pulled from
sets of Chevy Volt batteries. Got them from a fellow on eBay. The parts,
batteries, BMS and cables ran about $1600 for everything. The

Hi John and All,
I do have some , 96vdc worth but wasn't thinking of selling them i got from
Bob Rice in his big buy.
Since they last forever , make big amps and don't die from sitting for a mower
project they would be good.
Plus shipping to Cal from Florida is rather high.

Hi Cor, John and All,
Sounds like a job for bb600 nicads that last neat forever, can handle
the current easily. And lots of them lying around and no expensive bms, charger

Keith,
IMO do not bother with converting an AVCON to j1772. Why after you have
modified it, it is no longer UL approved so if there is a fire, the insurer
will opt to not pay
Check out my webpage on how to convert a DS-50, it might be helpful
