I've made several trips in my 2002 Kia between my home near Seattle and destinations in Eastern WA (minimum trip time, 4 hours, maximum 7 hrs) at sustained speeds over 70mph, usually pushing 80. I still get 30mph, and RPM around 4500. I love the little beast, even if acceleration is dismal, and the
