I just found that I can’t type a coda sign (opt-shift-5 on the Mac) as text in
the Shape Designer, at least in Maestro. This is for both Finale 25 and 2014.5.
I got around it by opening the file in 2014 and it works there. Anyone else
noticed this, or can anyone else confirm?

EVPU left on a redraw. And that's where it really is.

I think many of the people who have used Finale or a while use Speedy,
with or without a midi keyboard (in my case it's with). It used to be
Make Music's recommended method, and that's what we got used to and
developed the habits. Latterly it would seem that Simple entry has been
improved
so it doesn't print

If you only want layer 4 to affect spacing, you can Apply Show Active
Layer Only and space in Layer 4. Layer 1 won't affect spacing, but then
neither will Layers 2 3. So this may not help.

the suffix is too close to the # sign. It's fine with a plain chord
letter name. Is there a way to add some space after the accidental? I

It works perfectly for me in Speedy - but I start by hitting option-5 on
the Mac.
It's also correct in Simple - enter dotted 8th + 8th, then use tuplet
tool on the 1st note to make 5 1/16 in 4/16. (I've never used simple

I have a client who wants to send me files in Allegro. Can I open them in
Finale? I would expect to be able to, but I'm not sure.

In the old days, I used to create custom fretboards in the shape designer,
assembling them with Seville font characters. For just a couple, that might
still be a viable option depending on the size of your score.
