So I finally gave in a bootstrapped a 32 bit fink and successfuly built kmail4-mac. However, this app (i.e., calling open on kmail.app) won't start either. If a call the executable directly, I get some error messages (below). These appear to be akonadi related, just like the 64bit kmail. So
