Just had to share this with the group.
I just got the FlexRadio tuned up with the FA-66 sound card. I was tuning
40 and heard KA0KA so I gave him a call. He had been in QSO's with 4 or 5
other people and had been guessing their radio models based on the shape of
their signals.
He couldn't gues
I searched the archives on this but could not find confirmation that FlexRadio
SDR1k would work with Ubuntu. Can someone point me in the right direction

Okay John, I'll give it a shot. Thanks to both you and Wally.

Jim,
The unfortunate fact is that we only have one return line from the PA side
of the hardware to give us information. When the ATU is tuning, we use that
line to tell us when to stop transmitting. That same line is the one that
we use to serially pull the power information out of the hardware
I would love to have flex on my mini and get rid of the PC.

No need to switch the focus between apps.

I have 2 SDR-1000 and run them in an SO2R in a 1500 watt environment. The
only other precaution I take is that I ground the antenna input of the radio
not in use when I'm transmitting. I use a relay switching system I devised
for this purpose.

I know you will be happy that the generation and shaping you suggest is
exactly what we do and what can be done either on the PC or the "Janus"
board (new USB widget). The shaping derived by Frank for CW produces
the most gorgeous scope patterns one can imagine for the elements.

Thanks for the suggestion Wally. I'm still concerned about
overloading the front end of the rx if it doesn't go into a full
standby. Even with the antenna changeover, a legal limit RF field can
be quite strong for a nearby rx.
Eric, have you any comments on this?
Thanks,

I have seen some post regarding contesters and the flex radio.
What do you do about focus of the applications?
How do you switch between the logging program and the radio (flex) program.
This demands a quick poke over to the mouse.
Are there any pc aftermarket products that would enable the focus t
If you only have PowerSDR and your logger loaded at the same time, you
can quickly switch between them using Alt-TAB on the keyboard.

Jeff,
As we used to say, "Two trains, one track"! You are absolutely correct.
The
"problem" only exists with the internal Z-100 tuner. When it is bypassed and
the extenal SG-237 is used all works as you described. I wonder why that was
done.

One difference seems to be: I don't have the internal
tuner in my SDR, and it sounds to me like you do.

Jeff, Now I am really confused. In TUNE mode my forward power and reflected
power selections read 0W as if they are disabled in TUNE. That would
certainly explain the
