I recently bought a SDR-1000 at Dayton and have been playing with it.
I'm using a Delta-44 card with my 2.4 GHz Pentium 4 PC, parallel port
connect, and V16.1 software.
I have no reception of AM broadcast stations from 520KHz to 780KHz, my
alarm clock picks up several stations, the SDR-1000 nothing
Hmmm - wonder if the DDS is oscillating where it should be? If you turn
off spur reduction, the DDS should be oscillating 11025 khz below the
frequency of interest. You should be able to hear the DDS on another HF
radio if you put its antenna (just some wire should do) near the SDR
1000. Wo
Something isn't right. I listen to 660 AM and 1010 AM and other NYC
stations a lot and I never have a problem. Now the filters in front of
the QSD are optimized for these LF and MF frequencies. If you
intend on using this regularly as an AM broadcast radio, I would
suggest you design a LPF
I have no problem listening to KBLJ out of Austin on 590 and it is over
100 miles from here. Make sure all your cables are plugged in properly.
I have noticed that sometimes if they don't seat right then weird
problems exist. Does it work ok on the other bands? Can you hear WWV
where it is supp
SDR1000 to
minimize the reponse to harmonics. I cannot see an easy fix to get rid of
spurs on these frequencies.

Is it possible that you are overloaded?
I am about a mile from one broadcast station
and a couple of miles from two more.
Canadian transmitters a little further.
If I use a long wire on the broadcast band,
I get lots of strange behavior and can't
receive stations 50 miles away in Detroit.
Also, d
I agree with this suggestion. I always run with the preamp set to Off
or Low on the Low Bands. I am looking for High IP3 and large dynamic
range and not MDS (which cannot be heard on these bands if your life
depended on it). If your ears demand the noise floor come up, increase
the agc gain
