The LG i think came in the later models of the Powerbook fireware 2000 edition. The models that came with the 10 and 20 gig drives came with the LG model DVD Rom i think - this would be post June 2000 (not sure but i think the LG is slightly faster DVD then the other drive). The replacement drive

This was a item that was discussed on this board alot several months back. There has been alot of problems with DVD Rom drives for the 2000 Firewire powerbook. I was one of them. Most cases this happened just after the warrenty goes. I contacted a apple tech and to replace the item with exchange i

I just use some round self-stick plastic bumpers that come on a sheet. They are usually used for the corners of pictures you hang on the wall or on cupboard doors. My mom found a couple of sheets at a garage sale. I don' t know where you can buy them, but any hardware store is a good bet. Harmon
