Lot of vanilla server reporting this problem, has to be a srcds issue.
For me, it happens so rarely, it would be hard to tell if disabling or
changing anything helps. It happened to me when the server was changing to
gravelpit.

The group server behavior needs to be fixed. It's fine if you want a
24/7 mapcycle server, but it'd be a lot nicer if you could create a
lobby for it when it's empty (without having to know the
sv_search_key, and when you use sv_search_key, when you return to the
lobby after beating the campaign,
Meant to ask this a while, but one of the server admins for the TF2maps.net
server reoported server crashing in custom maps that have no
info_observer_point entities (for example cp_lazytown, ctf_snowfort, cp_wolf,
cp_snowbridge, achievementbox, cp_orange_x, cp_orange_cross2, among others).
Ive had something like this where (sometimes) if a player suicides (or
explodes) on a custom map it will crash the server. Happens more often than
not but not always. Only on custom maps.

- Versus mode is now locked to Normal difficulty

Why no exclusive settings to close server. That's so crappy.

Excellent list of issues addressed. Easily hits 90% of my complaints with
trying to find a decent unmodded game by nuking difficulty changes and the
sv_cheats unintentional reset. Thanks.

Why on earth would you lock the Versus difficulty? That is a pretty lame

Don't worry i guess once again sourcemod plugin devevlopper will correct the

No dude, it's not, grow up. I love Valve games, and almost play them

Wait, so does this mean I can do something like:

z_health 300

sv_cheats 0

And the changes will not be reversed when sv_cheats gets turned back
off?

To explain a bit more than Steve did, no. There was a glitch where
turning cheats off would set some cvars to improper values (smoker
tongue-miss to 15 seconds, spawn distance for zombies to greater than 10
meters, etc), and this patch fixed that (they now reset to their proper
values).
Damn. Thanks as always bl4nk.

The most noticeable things that the sv_cheats fix changes are the melée
cooldown (that isn't even a cvar anymore AFAIK) and the
only-3-bossinfected-at-a-time-so-one-is-stuck-spawning-for-minutes problem.

I'd like to chime in here and second this. I love versus mode but by
far I've had the most fun in versus playing on servers running on Hard
difficulty or better.
I find normal is just way to easy and too forgiving on the survivors.

Well I dont usually post my thoughts. Due to the fact so many use this and

my members only. The one with the password on it was for advance VS mod. We

Totally agree. I see my early decision to pull all my L4D servers was the
correct one.
I won't play the game either, and would gift this turd if I could.
I think time will ultimately show people that this linear console hack isn't
worth supporting in the long run. Just my opinion.
In my opinion, I think Left 4 Dead is being 'locked down' because of all the
problems that appeared during the last year with TF2. It became nearly
impossible to find a plain Jane vanilla TF2 server. It's like every single
one of them had some mod installed that changed gameplay. I'm not

Ummm, if plain servers are the intention here then maybe Valve should
prevent all mods or better yet just host the servers themselves??

I agree that the game should be played the way it was designed. TF2 is a
difficult game these days. It was designed to be a 24 player game with a
respawn timer, but has been convoluted into, well, a load of mud. I honestly
wish Valve would have taken a heavier-handed approach. I can't tell you
Clan and competitive players are not the only ones who want communities.
Go tell that to TheVille or my home F7Lans. Some people just want to
have their own servers on to play with their friends, and THAT is the
point of hosting a server.
What is so hard to accept about the If you are on a modded

this is a little different for L4D. When you create a server especially

I totally agree with OP. This change is totally unfair. Some people wants to

hard mode or anything else you can always host your own server. If you
