I do agree that it would be a PITA. But perhaps it would be better than

I don't have access to a z on which I can do this. Would it be OK to
load in on Hercules/390, just for learning purposes?
My group keeps pushing for zLinux, but the current Linux people (Intel)
want nothing to do with it. Likely, IMO, due to their perception of lack
of control over the hardware.
TCO seems to be ignored today. Mainly because management is short
sighted. At least where I work, the long term is maybe a year. I.e.
this budget cycle. That's where they get their bonuses.
