mode, then only f4 will launch a scan. The default Openbook voice is very

I would turn off the virtual ribbon. It is handy, but you become dependent
on them and they don't work as well as the original menus, since they don't

Arrow to the function keys (or press the letter f until you reach them).
For each key you want to mute, press Alt+t and it should then indicate mute.
When completed, tab to okay.
Then Ctrl+tab to go back to the settings dialog and tab to okay.
Press enter.
