Georgia,
I have used the Place event in this situation:
Event: Place:
Description: Moved from Mississippi to Texas
Date: by 12 Sep 1918
Notes: Evidence for this is the Draft Registration Card filled out by
Clarence C Bond on 12 Sep 1918. He listed his occupation as farmer and
his employer
Pauline,
Do you use the General Notes area to repeat any of this information or to
expand on detail or do you just enter it all in the Event

I wouldn't regard it as an Event, no matter how tall, but the fact of
having a gravestone is just that, a Fact, and I see no reason not to
record it as one *if one wishes*.
If using a letter, I will often pull a quote or paragraph to enter in the
notes section. It gives a human face to the move, and reads nicely in
reports.

I thought this group concentrated on genealogy issues rather than business
consulting. I think they are doing a wonderful job, keeping the price of their
software within reason and answering our questions. Remember, every new

I just thought someone might know what the turn around time would be for

purpose to anyone if they waste time with a product that does not reach the
consumer. I did not intend to start another argument.

I am disappointed to see that Dick Eastman's genealogy blog this morning
wraps up his week at the NGS conference in Kansas City, but mentions only
the new version of Ancestral Quest genealogy software which was introduced
at the conference - no mention of Legacy. The blog can be seen at
Janis,
NGS was very successful for us. One of the most successful conferences ever.
In fact, it was so successful that every time we hoped to talk with Dick
Eastman about it, more attendees showed up for a demonstration. We really
didn't ever have a chance to leave the booth.
Thanks,
Geoff
Lovely! I'm so glad to hear it, Geoff. I just heard from someone off-list,
who said he had seen Dick Eastman carrying a copy, and believed that he
would probably blog on it in a few days.
Looking forward to seeing it, and am in high hopes that it will lure a few
dedicated TMG-ers over!

Kudos Millennia! I hope your new customer base increases ten fold
which means more profit which means your greater capability to give us
more bells and whistles to our excellent Legacy product.

And I would enter it as a source with a low surety level, especially for
birth date. My great-grandfather's tombstone has the wrong birth year on it
and my 2nd great grandmother's is crumbling - the age at death is not
readable and from what the transcriber entered, she would have been 62 when

As it was discussed recently, photos don't print in reports with the
vital events: birth, christening, death and burial. So if one wanted to
print a gravestone photo in a report a separate event would have to be
made of Burial. I don't see the point since Burial is already there. I

This is a Visual Basic Error the description of the error 62 meaning exactly
what it says, ie. it is trying to read a file which past the end of file, or

Georgia,
I have settled on using the Address event and make a note from where - to
where, with as close a date as I can get. That way it shows up in the
Chronology Report which is an important tool for putting together a family
or personal history.

I agree with you. I've been trying to organize Legacy so that it's of
interest to my children - not a genealogist. I'm sure that at some point
they might look at the sources, but they would be far more likely to read
the events of their ancestors' lives. Therefore, I include as events
