support Unicode, so some Eastern European characters cannot be accommodated.

pertinent family surname, so that when I glance down through the list I can
see the sources for that family name. If it is quite specific to an
individual, I will put it under surname, given name.

Italics show the person's GENDER is UNKNOWN.
In the Index, select the person and click the Family Tab. Above
their name, where you usually see Husband or Wife you will see
Unknown.
Click on the person to reach the Individual's Information screen.
Near top right, there are three radio buttons, M F
Click on the View menu in Legacy and select Tips Window

Legacy 7 and I love the inclusion of the married names in indexes etc which
is relevant for the vast majority of marriages in my file. But haven't been
able to download the program yet so I'm not able to check this out

I do use it, but the ribbon allows ten characters, (at my last checking), that
leaves me 5 capital letters and 5 smalls, So I am constantly changing the
contents of it. Although the various languages only use three or four extra
characters each, they are different between Swedish, Norwegian,
Legacy v7 was designed to install directly over the Legacy v6 folder.
