Your main problem here seems to have nothing to do with Legacy. BTW you do not
say what report, if it is one of the Charts it may not save to rtf. My comments
below refer to the Book Reports.
Even the Standard Edition will Save a file as an rtf just check the radio

not the Legacy defaults (ie , mine don't say that and I cannot remember
changing them). In any event you can change them just right clicking on them.

You wont be able to run Legacy directly on Ubuntu but I have run it in a
virtual Windows session using VMWare server without problem. I have been
trying out Ubuntu for some time (since version 6) and the only thing that
stops me using it as my prime operating system is the number of Window

various distributions including ubantu and the need to run Windows programs
is what always stops me.

My first thought was something in the data fields but no, anything entered
shows as comma for the 'born' field and full stop for the 'died' field. I
have since discovered the 'problem' - I have changed my screen font to Comic
Sans MS so I guess the program is looking up the wrong code for the comma

Yes. Windows allows one to use Word, Open Office, Wordpad or Notepad or any
other text editor as the default for program for any text file. I have
