I am trying to create a .pdf (descendant narrative) with LOTS of pictures.
Without the pictures I was unable to create the file easily (it was roughly 800
pages long).
With the pictures, I get a repeated error message that says:
Error opening temporary work file.
Error 3050. Could not lock file.
But it does not print the LOCATION picture unless you attach the picture to
the event. And marriage pictures do not print at all unless you add a
separate marriage event and attach the picture to that event.

Margaret,
You should be able to open .mht files with your internet browser. I have saved
some web pages in that format. Try to double-click the file and see if it opens
in your browser. You won't be able to import to Legacy but at least you should
be able to view it.
Maybe the person who sent

What is the size of the file? Can you 'print' the file in any format? Have you
tried using Import Wizard to 'confuse' your computer. The worst that could
happen is it doesn't work, either. I have never seen the extension mht
added with any genealogical file (though I am not an expert in all th
I disagree. I currently print Individual Reports, and it prints the events with

Hi Listers
I have a problem.
I have been sent a gedcom file but it has an extension "mht" and will not
open into my Legacy programme.
I have made another file and inserted a "ged" at the end instead but still
nothing.
I have been assured it is a gedcom file and have been in behind the scenes

Dear Alastair,
For starters, the following are what Legacy needs to do:
Allow a picture for the marriage! Right now, you cannot attach a picture to
the marriage.
You must create a separate Marriage Event/Fact, called Wedding Photo or
whatever and attach the picture to that!

Kirsten,
As I have said before on this list, there is a heck of a difference between
an upgrade and an update. Very rarely does an update create problems,
whereas with an upgrade of any program bugs are not that unusual - just look
at Microsoft!
Updates are aimed at getting rid of bugs and i

Thanks for checking on this.

I just tried it in 7.0.0.100 on XP and it worked as Brett says. So maybe
an update is in order.

It seems to me that it is easier for a Splitter to move toward being a
Lumper (by combining Master Sources) than it is for a Lumper to move
towards being a Splitter. Do you agree?
