Your problem sounds like a general Windows issue. I could do it in
Linux, but I can't think of an appropriate search term. You need it to
search for (a) one or more spaces, (b) at the end of a line. In Linux,
the $ sign can indicate the right-hand end of the line. There may be
an equivalent
That should do it. If your part tree is a complete line, you can
select it with the Focus Group options. If you want a collection of
bits, you can put all the fragments in the Focus Group, and produce
a consolidated Gedcom of them all. It will then contain several trees,
of course.

It is possible to run two versions of Legacy on the same machine, just install
the second as Legacy New. You are correct in saying that you would have to

One more option. I have a relationship to parent status called unknown.
You could link up children and assign that status. Later it is easy to find
all those with the unknown relationship to father or mother.

I found it on a new thumb drive I got last night. the strange thing
is, the new death date I entered did not save last night.
So on my new laptop, I have been testing Legacy. I saved it in the
