I'm not sure if this is even possible, but I've defined additional CPUs
under VM and would like them enabled for Linux WITHOUT having to re-IPL the
Linux guest image. Is there a command within Linux or otherwise that will
let me do this

when i do a modprobe tape390 on the new version of SuSe i see it has tape
support and it even knows that there are two tape drives available in the
LPAR. How do i get to access and use these drives?

Domino is NOT available for Linux on S/390. IBM is investigating whether
to provide this, but it is not available at this

I am currently trying to install the latest version of Suse Linux (2.4
kernel) in an LPAR and having trouble defining the ethernet card. The
machine is a MP3000 H30 with 3 LPARs with 3 ethernet cards and 1 token ring
card.
LPAR 1: VSE had TR card dedicated to it.
LPAR 2: not in use
LPAR 3: LINUX
I logged on to z/VM the other day and discovered the system 100% busy. RTM
showed one of the 65 Linux guests had heavy CPU activity. I logged into the
Linux guest and it looks like kswapd was in a loop.
This is an off-the-shelf RH 7.2 distribution. Anyone else experienced this?
